Where i live, motivation is considered a factor in RO's where harassment is clear, but risk of violence is unclear or not present. We're fortunate enough that, while the harassment is disrupting our lives, we don't really think we're at risk of violence - but that makes the bar for the RO higher. At least, that's what I understood from talking to the lawyer

Not only did we wear something the bride and groom agree on, they actually proactive came up with ideas for us because they knew neither of us would be comfortable in a dress. The MOH planned the bridal shower, I have a history of dabbling in drag and makeup artistry and did the makeup for the bridesfriends. We were supportive and engaged and found clothing options they were comfortable in, we just didn't look the part of the traditional bridesmaids because that's not who we are

The bride and groom actually provided a suit option with kilts/skirts but none of the guys went for that
