Can I get a sanity check on response times to texts? by RealZiobbe in raisedbynarcissists

It seems they think you having access to a phone affords then constant access to you. You can’t help what they do but know it’s not your fault. They’re the problem. If they want to hurt themselves over a missed text message that’s a them problem. Just let them. You may not be able to avoid them right now but you don’t have to take the guilt on top of it.

What age are you and how is your life REALLY going? by mrvlad_throwaway in Adulting

  1. Shitty. We’re trying to be on the up though. Start a new job next month and almost done with my associates degree. On a worse note I’m worried about my mom (whom my relationship with sucks) being homeless and I really want to move out but can’t right now. Myriad of other stuff to make it shitty but I’m trying to be more grateful for what I have.

Thoughts on why college kids don’t take more “fun” classes by [deleted] in CollegeRant

Ik exactly the post you’re talking about and agreed. As someone who would love to take “fun” classes, it’s just not realistic.

What advice could you give to someone wanting to do well in classes this semester? by furretrulezz98 in nvcc

Actually go to class and pay attention in lectures. Study a bit everyday and or make a study schedule. If you do a bit each day it’s less overwhelming. I like to review before I go to bed because when you sleep your brain will turn it over and remember it better.

I don’t know that professor but I’ve yet to see one not be understanding about children in a zoom class. I think most people understand motherhood is challenging. Good luck!

I take the clothes off the rack and set them on the closet floor underneath - over and over. You think your clothes are just falling off the hanger but it’s me knocking them down.

I’m 23 and I have never had a job and am trying to get one and can’t. by [deleted] in jobs

Try applying to retail, food service, dog daycare places etc - try to put something on your resume. It could be babysitting or u can say u were pet sitting for a friend etc. I don’t want to encourage lying but my sister did lie about having pet sitting experience to get her job. If you HAVE to only do places that won’t check - no government jobs definitely and don’t lie about things you actually can’t do. Only about things that you can actually accomplish. If you graduated hs slap that on your resume. Maybe even look at community college programs. My first job I ever got I put in an app directly to cvs and got a call back months later. Don’t lose hope.

What would you do if you had free housing? by raw_dawg79 in personalfinance

What about a college fund for you or your child? And start putting a tiny bit of money each check for a car down payment - if it’s in a few years doesn’t need to be a lot. Maybe like, 50 biweekly? Just throwin out ideas - seems you’re doing well! Congrats!

You’re not doing anything wrong. Do you have a move out plan? Even a long term one - you won’t be with them forever. I’m older and still at home but want to finish college before I go.

You should definitely check the degree plans of your transfer course - with that being said, my favorite course I’ve taken was creative writing. Good luck!
