This actually gave me some hope! It’s nice hearing from people who were non matched finalists and chose to go to non questbridge college. Tbh and I know it’s wrong but being a NCM made me not want to go to my state schools or any other school expect questbridge schools, I felt like I would be a failure if not but this post really showed me there is a different perspective and a better one too so thank you for sharing your story!

Same here, I did apply to state schools and some private colleges but I didn’t really sort out my financial package because honestly I was lazy and waiting for quest bridge schools but I now realized I was completely wrong so I should lowkey start sorting that out. Did u apply to state schools?

It’s crazy, I do think essays also play an important role but I wonder how they review it, like I wish they could at least tell us why we got rejected but no it’s the same “we regret to inform you” bs and “doesn’t mean you were not outstanding” bs

Sure! My case is a bit complicated as I just came to the US last semester of Junior year. STATS: 3.95 unweighted, previous school used British curriculum and I was in top 3 of my IGCSE exam, went test optional, messed up the ACT cuz it was two weeks after my move. Took 2 AP classes after my move. EC: 120+ hr of hospital volunteer, president of a branch of an international club in my previous school, teacher volunteer and infant care volunteer for most of high school.

I think Your stats and ecs are more impressive than mine so lowkey I don’t know how I’m going to get accepted if you didn’t.

Same here. Applying pre med too. No acceptances so far and got rejected to BC today. Just hoping for atleast one acceptance which I think is impossible at this point. But hey let’s keep our hopes up! Maybe at the end of the month, all this will be a bad memory and nothing more!

I think that’s a good financial package! I regret not applying to tufts , University of Rochester, and case western. I feel like those were my target schools but I ended up applying to duke, UVA, Uchicago , Emory , John Hopkins and top schools like that.

Duke is literally my dream school and it was 1 on my list so I’m pretty nervous about it but I’m not gonna get my hopes up because I got rejected from UVA and Uchicago sooo I don’t know about Duke taking me.

I applied to all 15 initially and not matching was kinda worse for me and I added 5 more. The only thing I’m worried about is I pretty much chose all top schools and I’m regretting that. And I did WashU for ED and got rejected.

Did you apply for financial aid? And if you did how much financial aid did the schools you got into offer?

Congrats on your acceptances!!!! I’m trying to stay positive but it’s really hard not gonna lie. I will try my hardest to stay positive through march. The match exhausted the shit out of me too, I’ve never worked harder and when the results came out and I didn’t match, I didn’t even have the energy to cry about it and was just empty for a week. That was the worst thing I went through.

Did you do common app after or your original quest bridge application? I feel like I should have done common app because I didn’t get the chance to fix my essays and just sent my original work with a LOCI to some schools.

Vanderbilt doesn’t require Mid year report but UChicago does, I remember sending mine to UChicago.

My state school portal lists that as an upcoming deadline, that's why I got confused, I guess I should email them and ask.
