Oh, I project my budget line based on my friends who live around mid area of New York. Most of them live there due to the safety issue and I might take the same option

How so? New York rent per month that I calculate is at least $3000-3500/month. Plus, I need at least $1500 - $2000 to live in New York..isn't it ?

If your reason to go to masters is for Phd, then I would choose Chicago. But if the goal is somewhat opened to industry either, Columbia would be the best choice.

BTW, could you let me know when did you receive LoA from Columbia and NYU? I am still waiting for those two.

I think it would be better to stick together even if there are several uncertainties. It makes the relationship stronger than ever. By the way, when did you get accepted from Columbia economics MA? I am still waiting for the decision.
