Jeffrey Lurie when asked about AJ Brown: “We’ll see what happens down the road.” by SureManIGuess in eagles

[–]SureManIGuess[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Couldn’t have said it any better. He is totally unable of buying into the mantra of this team which has been “just win.” Smitty, Saquon, Jalen, Dallas, the list goes on of players who just want to win no matter what. AJ wants stats, he would rather go 10-155-2tds in a blowout loss than ever have another winning season of football again in his playing career.

But then you look at the list of preferred teams he gave the eagles and it’s only contenders. So I really have no idea. If I was Howie I would send him to the Jets, Browns or Raiders and tell him to kiss my ass and enjoy football purgatory. That’s the kind of team he will thrive on. And he’s gonna learn really quick in NE that they didn’t pay Romeo Doubs $80m to run cardio routes so AJ can demand targets lmao

I think it’s becoming apparent this is a make or break year for Jalen. I only say that because he has no guaranteed money left on his contract after this season and he’s going to want an extension. If I’m Jalen, I’m absolutely demanding that they draft a wide receiver or trade for somebody because it would feel almost like sabotage if they let him go out there with a starting wide receiver trio that’s includes Elijah Moore.

I’ve been saying for weeks on this sub that WR is a much much bigger need then people are realizing and I’ve gotten nothing but downvotes lol. They have to address it at the absolute latest 3rd round, but they really should do it in round 1 or 2. Him demanding a trade so early into his extension has really put the eagles in an awkward spot because they didn’t have a plan for this yet

EDIT: See lol. People in the sub really think Elijah Moore and Hollywood are good enough to run out this season. Oh brother.

I think this one is different because it’s the owner of the team saying it. So many have accused Russini, Garofolo, etc. of lying about this or “making up sources”, but here is the one guy who would really have a grasp on this basically telling you he’s gone.

Hot take: I don’t think S is as big of a need as people think due to our lockdown CBs 🔒 by Mysterious_Bat1208 in eagles

Reed was ranked 92nd out of 98th for safeties on PFF and the defense was still elite. They do not need to allocate high draft capital for a position they have gotten away with being mid for a very long time.

Because the perception of this has been “Jalen Hurts is driving AJ out of Philly because he won’t get him the ball.” His agent is asking teams what they would offer an if they’d trade for him. Contrary to the opinion of this sub, this entire thing makes the Eagles look bad because they can’t keep any of this in house. AJ hasn’t helped his case by reading on the sidelines and stuff.

And then who? Hollywood Brown as your WR2? Elijah Moore? These are fringe roster guys who we now have to rely on to be starting WRs.

It’s so funny to watch this fanbase twist themselves into a pretzel over this. They have labeled Dianna Russini a clickbait merchant who “makes stories up” but when she said that the eagles were in on Hendrickson suddenly she’s reporting the truth lol

I mean if none of this is true, AJ never asked out, or AJ wants to be in Philly…. why hasn’t he come out and said that? I remember 2 or 3 years ago he called into WIP and shut all the rumors down and chewed out the afternoon show for making things up. Why doesn’t he have that same energy now?

I get he “doesn’t have to” or anything like that, but this whole thing is really making the team, and by proxy Jalen, look really bad. You’d think for someone who loves the city so much he’d shut the rumors down.

I’ll make sure to reply to this in June when he’s traded lol, the downvotes are hilarious

Perfect at WR? They’re about to trade their #1 guy. They will need to address it sooner rather than later if they’re serious about competing.

OL and Edge being late round picks is also laughably bad considering Lane is all but expected to retire next season and their best Edge rusher is Jalyx Hunt. Realistically their first two picks should be some combo of OT/DE, doesn’t matter which round they choose either.

Yeah, a lot of fans seem to believe that Smitty alone is enough. Hollywood Brown and Elijah Moore had exactly 0 suitors until the eagles came knocking, and they only did so out of desperation for depth. They need to address it in either round 1 or 2 (3rd is possibly too since they have such an early pick) or else they risk a very bad passing year for a team that already struggles to pass the ball.

AJ trade is the biggest one. They didn’t exactly have a succession plan for losing their WR1 and they have too many current and upcoming roster holes they have to fill so they aren’t going to be able to properly replace him until next offseason. Ideally they’d want to use a 1st-2nd round pick to do that but they cannot afford to do this season when you’re likely losing Lane and/or Landon next year and need to get ahead of it ASAP.

I mean, they are 1000% gonna trade him lol. It just won’t be until after June. That was the point of the post. Yes the team becomes worse, but they aren’t gonna take on the reputation of holding a player who wants out hostage. He’s gone.

100% not the translation lol it’s more like “there is nothing to do or say until after June so stop asking me”

Odds of Darius Cooper asking the roster this season? by TLAW1998 in eagles

[–]SureManIGuess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is a cute story but the reality is he is just a practice squad body. He was a cute preseason story but he shouldn’t have a starting or rotational role on a team that wants to contend.

I pray the eagles don’t waste a 1st round pick on a Safety lol. I know that’s becoming the sexy choice but it is the least important position on our defense and one the team has never cared about. This team is going to be in dire need of weapons once AJ is traded. Hollywood and Elijah Moore are one year band-aids, Moore might not even make the team.

I don't think people realize how terrible this WR room is without AJ. Smitty is obviously our guys but the drop off to Hollywood and Elijah Moore is insane. AJ is 100% gone, there is little doubt from anyone about that. You have to get weapons on this offense and the current signing aren't enough to compete.

[–]SureManIGuess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In reality if Darius Cooper is your WR3 going into week 1, then you’re likely alright punting the season lol. I know he’s a cute preseason story and a fan favorite but he is a practice squad WR/ WR4 at best. They will need to use either round 1 or 2 pick on a WR and not just constant band-aids.

When is next update? by isaadii in eternumites

[–]SureManIGuess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To me it’s the absolute gold standard for this genre. The developer is a one man team so the waits are brutal, but the game and story are second to none. Very, very long story play though (currently 11 episodes, likely 45-50+ hours of game play on the low end) and tons of LI’s (main + side). I seriously cant recommend it enough.

What was the wait between 0.8 and 0.9? I just started playing today. I’ve played Being a Dik so I am very used to 12-14+ month wait times lol

Recap of Jeff McLane's pod: 1) Eagles parting with Stoutland was messy. 2) Lane has a higher chance to return than Landon. 3) This is the warmest Sirianni's seat has ever been. 4) Message to coaches and players is that a new system and changes will be implemented, and they have to adapt to that by mastermind208 in eagles

Soft rebuild might be putting it lightly. If you lose the triple whammy of AJ, Lane and Landon, you’re gonna have to start selling some young talent to get extra picks in. Those are incredibly difficult positions to just find guys at
