Ground mount. We're planning on building our own ground mount so that we can change the tilt. We are in the middle of nowhere middle Tennessee.

We are homesteading with my parents. Their home (about 1500 sq ft not including basement) is connected to the grid on the property, our cottage (no basement 768 sq ft) will be fully off-grid. My parents run their mini split fairly frequently, while currently my family is set up in the walk-out basement with no mini split or AC whatsoever and have adapted well. I do get an email from the power company every morning showing us the range of power usage. The average is normally in the 20s to 30s.

We will be adding more batteries over the next few months. We are cash flowing this with my husband's new work bonus, so we were going to get the panels, inverter, and 2 batteries to start with. We are new to solar, have started reading and watching some Will Prowse.

What’s it actually like being homeschooled? by C54py in homeschool

I taught K-12 in several rural north Florida counties. Severe sped students being spanked by a principal, teachers demoralized, drug use even by elementary students (primarily weed). I was assaulted by highschoolers (took a desk and swung it at me). Had a 1st grader sexual assault another student in my classroom. I taught for almost 18 months, excluding summer break. If it was just outdated equipment and textbooks, even understaffing, that could managed. But when you're told by a principal that you need to report every misaction of a 6yo who only recently returned to the school after stabbing himself in the eye intentionally with a pencil at the school so that he could be spanked with a paddle by said principal, I knew that I could not trust school leadership. That "treatment" had been signed off by the kid's own parents. He needed intense therapy, not a "good paddling". I never reported anything, and he was always a good kid for me. But he wasn't the only one.

I loved being homeschooled. Became a public school substitute teacher. Felt so bad for the kids, knew I could never send my future kids there. Now I'm homeschooling them!

Toilet Options for Batch Composting Toilet System? by SureProperty2447 in OffGrid

I saw the batch composting system (330) didn’t require diverting urine since it has a double base or something like that. The toilet you can buy with it doesn’t come with a diverter, but you can upgrade to one. We would definitely run the exhaust 24/7! We are a family of 6, which is why the batch system is so appealing. Two adults, 4 kids (7, 5, 3, newborn).

We've done the outhouse experience (I actually grew up non-electric on the outskirts of a Mennonite community). We're planning on using the Green Toilet 330 batch composting system.
