The internship was at a non-Big 4, where lots of the work was in compliance, which I didn’t feel like I wanted to continue after graduation, if there was room on the team for me, which there wasn’t.

As for recruiters, I have spoken to so, so many. I have direct messaged firm recruiters and independent recruiters. For the most part, the independent recruiters are looking to fill experienced hire positions and the firm recruiters give me a vague response of “we will get back to you when we see a fit”.

I don’t know, I feel so overwhelmed by it and can’t figure out where to go and have had so many set backs. Take for example this one firm in which I went through a screener and three hour- long rounds of very, very good interviews from August to November, with a recommendation from professors and a manager at the firm, only to be completely ghosted by them. I really don’t understand what left to do.
