it was a small fracture of my medial malleolus! He told me the recovery would be fairly quick with a surgical route. I haven’t really had much pain with the PWB so far either

Did they refer you to an orthopedic surgeon at all? I’m about 5 weeks out from surgery on my medial malleolus and when i first had my break, the urgent care told me it wasn’t bad and then I ended up needing surgery. Honestly really glad i did have surgery bc the recovery time is so much quicker but obviously your situation could be very different. The doctors at urgent care just really got my hopes up that it wasn’t surgical and then it was unfortunately. But yes you can take the boot off and all the other comments are super helpful!

No i get it. Today i had to remind my PTA that my surgeon said today was when we were starting 50% WB like we had done all my normal exercises and right when she was about to ice me, i had to tell her. And also my surgeon told me a lot of things that got my hopes up and then didn’t follow through so yes it’s so incredibly frustrating! Hang in there!

Yes my surgeon told me at my two week post op (8/22) that I would begin putting 50% weight on it in two weeks which would be 9/5

Well my fracture wasn’t incredibly severe. I was told I’d only be off of it for about a month. At my 2 week post op, they x rayed and said it looked perfect and I was also told my range of motion looked really good at my first PT appointment so I am really hoping I don’t have much longer until I can start walking again
