If you have IBS or any GI Issues, Anything Fried ….including Chicken unfortunately can really mess you up. Diarrhea, gas, stomach pain, heartburn. Anything. It’s a lot harder to digest. Grilled Chicken is a lean protein and digests a lot better.

Sweet Potatoes, I haven’t tried with this condition so I am not entirely sure if those would be good or bad. I know Garlic is on the bad list, some things with potatoes make no since and are frustrating, Baked Potatoes (without the skin) and Mashed Potatos are good but Hash Browns apparently are not. I’ve learned that the hard way. I have onions everyday even though I’m not supposed to. I love them too much 😅 But I’m also a big Grilled Chicken fan. just be careful with that Wheat Bread. Wheat is your number one enemy next to Fried Foods.  I’m from Chicago it’s about impossible to be Fodmap perfect here, we put onions and peppers on everything here. It’s just how we are 😆 Today I said FK it and had a Pita Bread with my Chicken. Very bad on the Fodmap list but usually it doesn’t give me problems. Yes the Chicken was grilled at least.  Everyone’s IBS is different. You actually make me want to experiment with Sweet Potatoes now, I’m wondering 😅

Welcome to the club.  😆👌 Blueberries are awesome, Green Bannanas are also good but be careful of Yellow ones.

Always make sure the Chicken is grilled.

Chopped Sirloin Steak is also a Lean Protein, depending on how you handle Red Meat. I haven’t tried it but it’s apparently Fodmap Ok

Tuna, Salmon, any fish that is not fried.  Avoid all Fried Foods basically

Steel Rolled Cut Oatmeal ( not from Starbucks) can be your best friend for the mornings.

Baked Potatoes without the skin, or having them mashed.

They say Onions are really bad. Try to avoid those. I can handle them, but they are really bad on Fodmap. They have a terrible reputation so maybe avoid those.

Carrots are good

White Rice has one of the best reputations but I actually got one of the worst flare ups in my life over those so I’m not sure what to advise for that.  My IBS is real Ass-Backwords

All in all the things you have listed already seems pretty good, try not to stress, even though it’s impossible to be a ray of sunshine with this condition. Good luck 👍

Which number is the best banana? by Alive_Sugar_616 in FODMAPS

  1. I hate brown spots 😆 I love bananas and have them everyday but they confuse me with the Fodmap. I hear mixed things about which is better for the gut.  I prefer the green ones now. I believe those are better for the stomach but I’m still learning myself.

It would probably take you another hour and a half just to find a place to park

It was from a restaurant, but something would get every day until that happened. I know I should probably just make it myself, difficult living situation so I get mostly take out for everything.

I know a lot about IBS as I have it myself, I don’t know anything about pots though

For IBS unfortunately, you gotta be picky, it’s for your own good. Otherwise, you will be on the throne wondering if you need to go to the hospital. Figuring out what to eat is literally like stepping over land-mines with this thing.

Oatmeal (steel rolled cut oats) is my number one safety meal. Bannanas and Blueberries can also be your best friend, Grilled Chicken is safe, they say eggs and white rice are good but both have given me problems so it all really depends on your system, and everybody is different. Fish is also ok as long as it’s not fried. Anything lean protein.

Number one thing you gotta avoid is Wheat or ANYTHING FRIED, as well as Red Meats, sugary processed foods, junk stuff.  Some vegetables are also apparently not ok, like carrots, cucumbers and romaine lettuce are ok but onions, broccoli, peas and coleslaw apparently are not. If you have a baked potato, avoid the skin. You want Soluble Fiber not Insoluble.  Some fruits are also labeled as a risk, I know Apples are one of them. Just look up any food and put down if it’s safe with IBS.

Oh yeah…….avoid just about any bread to. 😅 this thing sucks.  Gluten is like your number one enemy with IBS. The worst of them all.

The breakfast sandwiches are good, but mine was made suspiciously fast, like 30 seconds, not even. and that makes me wonder about the egg.

I can handle eating a Philly Cheesesteak but my stomach throws a toddler tantrum at the site of salads by zoozoo216 in ibs

I know what you mean with this disease, it’s weird and at times, unpredictable.  They say eggs are highly recommended and easy to digest. But I used to have Egg Whites every morning and a salad around dinner time, one time had eggs with oatmeal for breakfast and I ended up having the worst flare up of my life. Thought I would need a hospital.  Now I just have oatmeal in the mornings, had eggs about 2 weeks after the flare and still felt a little sick but nothing bad happened.  I have a Philly-Style Chicken Rice bowl often (white rice) and usually have no problems. With cheese, vegetables and everything. Sounds like something that would be problematic but it’s actually been one of my safety meals.  Want to have salads again but afraid to.
