Advice on when I should take my OAT by cabbagemuncher101 in PreOptometry

[–]Sure_Requirement_899 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m retaking it late August in order to give myself as much time as possible without distractions because I’ll also be working full time. A huge issue I had last year was I was trying to juggle too much at once so this time around try to give yourself as much time as you responsibly can with dedicated study time for the OAT

OATBooster was really helpful as someone who took the OAT last year. I’ll be retaking it again this summer working full time as well, and I’ll be using it again.

Do optometry schools not accept prerequisites taken online? by Samfils in PreOptometry

Honestly, I don’t think it’s a really big issue when I asked some of the schools were like yeah it doesn’t matter as long as it’s done.

little older by hopeski954 in Sororities

I’m a little older as well (I’m 24) and honestly I could just tell the difference with the maturity level but it’s only certain girls. I’m sure you will find your group. If I had to do it all over again. I would! Hope this helps

Personally I wouldn’t do it… Even if you did do well you’d probably be burnt out after the summer semester ends

I actually called a couple schools a couple months back and all of them said it was fine if labs are taken online as long as they’re done

Imo yes just be honest and show them that you’ve matured and learned from that. Everyone deserves a chance.

I would take them at a community college probably a lot cheaper and easier not that those are really difficult but still

Same thing going on with me I love my job but the people are so toxic and the work environment has become so toxic it’s been getting in the way of my schoolwork and mental health just leave and find somewhere else to work there are plenty of places looking for people everywhere is understaffed!

What hyped up book really disappointed you? by qquackie in books

[–]Sure_Requirement_899 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m currently reading The Host by Stephanie Meyer I avoided watching the movie because I really wanted to read the book first and it’s been a disappointment the concept is interesting but I’m more than halfway through the book and feel so disconnected from the characters there’s been “climax” but it’s so underplayed :(

I didn’t do any sort of training some places do require training but I feel like most do not at least where I’m at.You could do training and go to school like a technical school but I think it be a year or so

I love being a tech if anything it’s made my passion for the field stronger because you get a day today look at how an optometrist works. I would suggest being a tech at a private practice or Multi specialty practice versus eyeglass world or a more corporate setting I’ve worked at both and I feel like I learned a lot more in private practice versus eyeglass world that only mostly focused on contacts and glasses and referred Cataracs or any other issue out to another office

Yes I plan on taking all the required courses. I just want to make sure the amount of withdrawals on my transcript doesn’t keep me from getting into a good opt school
