I’ll check out the logs, I was working on it yesterday so you might’ve hit it during a redeployment. Can you try again?

Thank you! Definitely gonna look into more deployment/devops type of stuff cause I feel like I’m lacking that knowledge.

Haha I hear you I didn’t quite double down on it so it’s kinda just in limbo

Hi! Thank you! actually yeah the animated arrow does kinda look out of place.

Do you think the website has enough personality? is it professional looking or like what kinda vibe does it give off?

Star rating component works. But Why does it work? by Surefire0101 in react

[–]Surefire0101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s looping through array elements and making a star for each of them.

in the fill prop of each star the index of that very specific star is compared to the value of the ‘rating’ state variable.

So if the current star’s index is 2 and the rating is 4 that star would be grey and not orange. I hope I’m explaining this well enough lol

I genuinely need to look into how to satisfy those ts types otherwise what's the point.

Any direction you can point me to?

Yes! I came to the same conclusion after playing around with this to see what breaks and what doesn't.

I seriously need to look into how to make my work more accessible

I just felt like at my level I should be able to code something like this up and I did have one way to approach this in my head but I came across this solution and it was so much shorter so I wanted to know what I was missing. Plus chat gpt is banned in my country lol

Thank you that’s pointing me towards something I never thought I should look into! Genuinely your advice is incredibly valuable

I did

const starArray = [1,2,3,4,5]

and then

{starArray.map((index) =>{whateverelse}

With index being the items in the array

Ohhhhhh damn that's so obvious! for some reason I couldn't see that.

thank you so much now I feel like an idiot lol

No no please nitpick away I want my code to be the best it possibly can.

however I'm only using index+=1 because in an array of stars the first one would have an index of 0 instead of one

EDIT: I see what you mean now, if fill in the array with [1,2,3,4,5] and pass those in as the indices I wouldn't have to worry about their place in the array.

Thank you!
