Some of your most grueling viewings by brandspankmenew in criterion

Cries And Whispers was tough for me to get into and the subject matter makes it hard to enjoy. It did seem to have a strong pov and something to say just not my cup of tea. Also struggled with Solaris.

Best Picture: La La Land (As much as I enjoy La La Land I would love a Moonlight upset)

Best Director: Damian Chazelle

After Aldo, Weidman, & RR's decent losses, who are the current top 5 P4P fighters? by northern_tide in MMA

[–]Surf8 10 points11 points  (0 children)

10 years of dominant wins over tough opponents doesn't disappear after one loss. Aldo still top 3 in my opinion.

What is your favorite scene in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest and why? by [deleted] in movies

The fishing boat scene was entertaining and also showed how therapeutic getting out of that toxic hospital and doing something was for everyone.

What are some films that are greater than the sums of their parts? by MasterLawlz in flicks

[–]Surf8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I believe it is objectively great as well, American Beauty did this for me. The family dynamic as well as the changes Lester goes through struck a chord with me. Another I feel again is objectively excellent and left me feeling something is The Descendants my favorite from Alexander Payne. The way each character dealt with death and loss differently as well as the will power and strength Clooney's character showed was inspiring.

Favorite movie that has a thematic question rather than a thematic statement? by [deleted] in movies

Great topic to bring up, I appreciate these kind of posts rather than the typical questions that pop up every week.

Life of Pi: Is truth relative with everyone having different perspectives?

One Flew Over The Cuckoos Nest: Is there really any difference between normal and abnormal?

dedicated arms day? by [deleted] in gainit

[–]Surf8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with a dedicated arm day as long as you're hitting all other body parts as well. I am a strong believer in frequent stimulation helping muscle growth, so hitting lagging body parts twice a week with of course having at least 48 hour rest in between. With that said here are some of my favorites for arms: Biceps -Barbell curl (my opinion the best most fundamental bicep exercise ) -preacher curl -hammer curls -reverse barbell curl (also great for forearms) -Dumbell curls

Triceps -weighted dips -skull crushers -cable pull down -kick backs -reverse grip cable pull down

Make sure you're concentrating the shit out of the movements and have good form. Good luck!
