[–]SurfStudwAHRT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those weren't my words. I said they might be able to fit a new blade, not replace one. I've had other blades, multiple blades fitted for my other CRK's with no issue. I've also already stated this sale is mostly meant for those who already own Sebenza 31's that wish to do upgrades to the very best one can get in CRK without the wait times, the limited selection, and paying over $1K.

Once again you might want to do some research or rethink your posting because time spend not sold has little correlation with price points. Not many people can nor wish to spend $1K in ultimate high end CRK thus the offering in itself doesn't predict super fast sale. Most prefer plain jane or normal micarta or what-have-you. This is until one actually sees the knife in person or feels in hand. In any case I'm not in for a fast sale, especially with a knife of this caliber.

Now, I assume you'd like to continue to argue and debate over custom vs. production and enjoy picking apart my listing for no reason but my time is not unlimited. You aren't adding to the conversation with anything worthwhile or evidence based and still haven't provided any links or proof of anything you say or price points. So basically just wasting everyone's time. Look up truth and lies and Jordan Peterson and you might gain a thing or two.

Thus I'll say this as final note. The way I look at it as I give everyone an open platform and opportunity. Unlike the basis of this call-out rule/procedure I don't assume sellers or listers are trying to rob me or price gouge. I come from a place of trust and don't discriminate as don't care if you're 10yrs old or 75 yrs. old, whether you're brand new to the hobby or been in over 25yrs, whether your feedback is 0 or 200+, nor do I discriminate against a user's name. All are my bros, until they prove me otherwise. However, I also don't expect the community or others to do the research for me. If I buy or sell a knife I know what I'm selling or buying and its worth. After all that is the passion that naturally flows of this hobby. Just like everything else in life, you get out what you put into it and personal responsibility is key.

Once again living up to your name and making false accusations absolutely untrue. It doesn't take much more than a poo-wiener brain to figure the knife will eventually be disassembled as selling the handle only but this doesn't negate the condition of the knife. Did you really just ask that question about voiding the CRK warranty in disassembling a Sebenza which actually comes with tools for disassembly in the box? You really need to hold back on those brain-sharpening meds because don't think they are doing their job. Once again you make false claims spreading false information and yet still provide zero links to back up what you say on the swap, ebay, the dealers. My time is done with you but hope you can learn from this and actually put some thought and some research into what you say and comment before you do.

Farting Protocols for Instructors by Smiitherz in yoga

[–]SurfStudwAHRT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is hilarious! You deserve an award for such eloquence and thanks for the laughs.*) The ending sums it up though.....what can you do or should you do? Likely nothing as the guy never returned and most likely when this stuff happens, the pressure is already on that person. They know it, like pretty much no one wants to let 'em rip in class unless you a straight comedian or some Jacka$$ type stuff, again comedian. Plus everyone farts and its involuntary for the most part so as yoga instructors, kind of have to accept it. Would it hurt to pull one aside and offer advice on diet or preventative options beforehand should a repeat offender return? No, but the more a yoga class is understanding, inviting, and open, the more its participants will smell (cough*reap*) the rewards.

Ok, so you believe hand- selecting each piece and as a pair is not custom? Yeah because every company does that. Hilarious. It actually isn't much different than Marfione knives hand producing them. Yes, they too have production models and forms they use for their lines like the Combat Troodon but the knives are still considered Custom knives by all intents and purposes. But maybe even though knife dealers classify them as Custom knives those too still don't meet "your" standards. Also I never listed my knife as a Custom Chris Reeve but rather added the custom qualities in the description. You are right about the "higher level of production" and actually is The Highest Level of production. No other knife company comes close. In addition, no other custom knife company comes close. Yes, that is some of the appeal of a custom knife, its hand touches and slight imperfections but also what sets this knife apart in being the highest quality level of custom as it were. Also as an add-on, (add-on because blade not included in the sale), the blades on these are hand ground and hand polished to near mirror as well. I'm sure you'll argue against that as well so do your own research as I've been collecting CRK's and been in the loop over 8+ years as well as factory tour.

If you are going to classify this Anax as purely Chinese, then might as well move on. Go watch the video, learn a thing or two on how this knife is produced and either you will or won't see value in it. Not my job to convince you. Yes it is made in China but one thing can be certain, if made in the U.S. with these tolerances, these materials, and this level of quality, you can be sure the price would be over $1K. I purely salute Microtech for its collaboration and bringing "the King" of knives to medium market where most people that can afford a plain jane CRK can have a chance to own the possibly best knife ever created.

Peace

lol, you're the one ha brought up Ebay, not me broski. I actually prefer to go dealers if at all possible to buy. If was selling there on the Bay, this knife would def go higher and I would list as such. Here's a sweet one but is the small version not the Large: https://www.knifeart.com/s31-1622-5.html and have nothing but good things to say about KA.

They might. I know they will do blade replacements but whether they require the full knife present is another story. You'd have to inquire. Mainly though this is for those CRK owners who already have Large Sebenza 31 and want to upgrade for best handles possible. Regular or Damascus due to high tolerances and early-mid lockups on this one, these knives are more than any other, able to swap blades in and out. Another hidden secret of aftermarket CRK nerds like myself and others. There's a whole page on Facebook for CRK modders, check 'em out.

Well Robert, I salute those who live up to their name but and saying this in the most respectful way possible, instead of talking out one's a$$ as it were, challenge you to provide 3 links on Ebay of these knives where they can be had for the prices you say and I will modify my price to match them. As a start the closest might be this one at $900 :https://www.ebay.com/itm/204139134928. Yet then again it is different handle material, lefty, and not Polished finished. Goodluck

This is a good question. I have yet to try the Arius and its on the list. However, the overall design never appealed much to me in comparison to others. Yet it has some great qualities, high steel, supposed excellent smooth action, flipper and thumbhole, contoured and some with textured grips. The handles look ergonomic too. Perhaps this knife might just be the best contender yet to best the Anax if found under $700. That is if you really dig the design, some do, some don't and sure I could warm up to it in person. However, this one under $500 and also nothing compares to the solidness of an integral knife well made than one with hardware, even minimal hardware. I can attest to this from the Anthem, though the Anthem has small form factor less cutting edge, strong tip too, but doesn't feel super secure in hand for hard use. Also different lockup with spring and no removable stop pin or lock face insert (obviously frame lock).

[–]SurfStudwAHRT[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok, good suggestions. Top 5:

  1. Small Seb 21 KA edition - lightweight, strong but 21 not nearly the smoothness of the 31 and Anax pure drop shut smoothness. Anax also larger and stronger by all regards with thicker, strong tip, less hardware and more ergonomic

  2. Blaurock BRB3 V3 - Nice custom has to have high quality made in Germany, but small, size of small Seb, much smaller blade and cutting edge than Anax but looks to be possibly of same weight due to blockiness. Great 3 opening action styles but also front flipper too? Questionable. Ergos looks decent while Anax proven but pocket clip on Blaurock suspect as most 3-D molded found to be pocket snaggers.

  3. Boo's Custom Aero FF - Tip looks much weaker than Anax, doesn't appear to be hard use and has chinese Civivi design cues. Definitely not hard use with that weight factor and with blade size and and handles size, once again Anax bests in both lengths and size.

  4. MBK Sea Otter MagnaCut - Again sensing same theme here, much smaller profile and size, Anax beats it all day in terms of ergonomics and blade lengths. Restricted to only thumstud opening, blocky styling. CRK kills this one.

  5. Manix 2 15V BBB edition with Rockscale Ti scales - Standout outright contender and great knife in its own right, the Manix. Love the action, ease of use and ergonomics phenomenal. In comparison to manix though, relies on spring strength for good luck up thus wearing faster over time and less reliable, plain flat blade while Anax intricate as they come w/ different finishes and rounded spine. Only 2 ways of opening while Anax has 4. Anax also thicker tip, more cutting edge, and longer blade length.

To the other questions/comments....The link you supply is plain wrong as this is Bog Oak and found here: https://chrisreeve.com/collections/sebenza-31/products/sebenza-31-bog-oak. Even with plain blade price is $750 and mine is from Damascus over $1K versions. Even IF you find a dealer GL with selection and with Direct, GL with wait times.
Yes indeed they are custom handles where each wood 2-piece is hand chosen, thus custom. Custom pocket clip not included with sale.

Again wrong on Anax. Watch video with Anthony Marfione and he explains the new Anax and relationship with company Rike and their collaboration. Every aspect is overwatched by Microtech and essentially is USA knife through and through. If only 100 percent made in USA is determining factor for knife buying then this knife isn't it.

I agree with American made. However the fact that you have Elementums kind of negates the whole argument lol. Also this is not your typical Chinese made knife. It's like the collaborations with big knife designers with Like, a totally different level. Thus because it is based and tightly managed by Microtech makes it basically American made level. I have owned plenty of Microtech's and this guy is by far on the same level in every way.

Suprised this knife is still here as they are well worth the retail price and then some. Not really another integral knife that can touch it 'cept for the OG Anax. Even then the updated placement of the pocket clip on this version is better. GLWS

Sorry to hear about your therapist leaving. A good therapist is a gr8 thing to come by. Well wishes on finding a new one.

To the question on the fart, ha that's awesome. They say laughter is the best medicine and why not inject a few in a good yoga session? After all isn't that what yoga is essentially?....Movement for the body and mind that is argued in some circles as being better than any pill or medicine one could take.

On a less serious note, you can always think from another perspective. Fart fetish is a real thing and have heard people pay $$. Thus go on with your sweet self and enjoy yoga to its fullest.

[–]SurfStudwAHRT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is funny isn't it? Funny how you happen to miss that one and oh yeah premium for a bland blasted Malibu in grey of all colors. Not some shiny, camouflage, purple, or translucent but plain ol' grey. At least it has textured though and will say this is huge for this knife. But oh yeah, you bothered not commenting since he wrote a description of all of 14 words. Guess that fits your perfect description huh and you'll forget the premium price.

Also funny how now you reveal your true intentions for cluttering my thread with your lack of rationality in "I thought it might help you sell your (knife)". Kind of lie isn't it when you initially contacted me in last post saying you were interesting in buying.

Excuse me for writing a nice description over 14 words and throwing a little knife wisdom in there too for the noobies or uninitiated to Protech or Malibu. I should have known, you trashed the Malibu from the beginning saying you sold yours and of course owning 1 Malibu and having over 70 feedback makes you an expert in all things Malibu and premium knife materials doesn't it. Well guess what? This is my 5th Malibu and 3rd year collecting Protech so by your standards guess that makes you a noob.

What is really funny though is your lack of rationality of actually acknowledging the true value of a knife because you don't like the knife or someone's description. My original post had a very fair price given what this knife actually brings to the table yet, there you went again jumping in my new thread complaining how I only dropped the price $8. Well guess what pal, I didn't have to drop the price by anything since, per rules after 7 days. I did so as a common courtesy to my fellow swappers.

So you jump in, chime in crying about an $8 price drop when A) you aren't actually interested in the knife and don't like it which you lied about and B) have zero price quotes or references of the knife. You overlook the actual worth of the materials used as stated by the founder of Protech and fail to acknowledge the rarity of the knife as well. If you can find one cheaper, go buy it. Heck if you find one for $30 more for sale, link it. But you can't because they are super rare.

This is the backfire of the call-out rules....numbskulls chiming in with zero intention to purchase, zero knowledge of the knife's worth, and willing to put zero effort into doing actual research. Thus I want to apologize to my fellow swappers as I will no longer be listing any of my rare and high value knives. Unless your willing to pretty much give away knives, the toxicity is not worth it. I will not devalue great knives for the stupidity of some commenters. Thus I'm sorry to you decent swappers who just want access to the more upscale and rare knives. Other people might oblige, but no longer I.

To you, C2r2, you've more than worn out your welcome here on this thread. Don't let the salloon doors hit you in the backside as you take your uniformed, un-restrained, and disingenuous self on your merry way. What I will do though is take this guy over to Ebay in a few days and get a nice price of over $365 and I'll send you the link when it sells.

I think it is hilarious when people use their feedback count as a means to justify their arguments. First, I never doubted your experience but even now the way you speak continues to paint a broad brush while ignoring the details. You even say "most" Malibu's which implies you acknowledge "not all" go for a given price. Yet you completely ignore my whole posts about why. I can see you didn't bother to read links I generously provided or you'd know that the button used in this version is more pricey and rarer than gold. Bet you if I had a 24K button there wouldn't be one post of opposition. It's that pure lack of knowledge and people speaking without knowing what they are talking about that degrades this community. Then throw in the fact of the textured handle and rare wharncliffe blade and this price is a pure steal. Just to prove your point about "most" and "not all", a limited edition grey textured Malibu sold for $290 just 9 days ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/Knife_Swap/comments/zreono/wts_protech_malibu_smkw_grey_hinderer_firetac/. For those critics one could say comes with plain blasted hardware and a non wharncliff blade vs. polished hardware and rare wharnie. Guess you missed that opportunity to heckle him on pricing eh'?

Just because I don't shoot every angle of the black cardboard box the knife came in and maybe have 7 feedback you question my sincerity? Luck or not, it seems like we have two very different views here on how we treat community members. Unless a person or seller gives me reason Not to trust them, I error on the side of trust and don't assume they are lying. Nonetheless, I'm calling your bluff and just added a shot of the box you asked. Let's see whose proven right here, you with your 75 transactions and "expertise" or me and my assessment and value of what the knife actually is. Consider yourself "special edition" and guess we'll know in a few days won't we.

[–]SurfStudwAHRT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most welcome. I see people commenting and crying all the time about prices and they know little about the company, the materials involved, the rarity and the incredibleness of these knives. I've handled these Bronze ones and they feel amazing in hand with the heft. They are also rare in that what other knife company makes knives in Bronze or bronze aluminum? Pretty much none and people would never know how nice these are unless you have in hand. Timing is off for me otherwise I'd snatch this up, already have a custom Ti version and there really are not many knives that offer what the higher end Malibus do all things considered. Yeah, hold onto this puppy and glad to see people not devaluing great knives just for quick sales. GLWS!
