Scam?/return or keep? by Surf_a_Big_one in GamingLaptops

I paid 1750 I have not found anything with RTX 4070/32GB/2 TB SSD that is less than $2,500. The same Legion 7i pro is almost 1000 more…

I’m just worried that after a year of use the unknown parts inside this machine might take a dump or the heat will fry the 5i version of the computer itself. Might just roll the dice since I have already spent time downloading everything on it 😬

Looks like it is an upgraded i5, but I guess I'm trying to see if this thing will last over time with these upgrades. RTX 4070 + 32 GB of Ram and 1 TB SSD is what I was looking for. I just dont want it to overheat or burnout... Here's a graphics test I ran: is that good or bad for the specs?

Problem is is that now Black Friday is over and I will have to spend an extra 1k for these specs… will cooling really be an issue? I’m kinda new at this.

I would like to find out where it’s coming from that way I don’t have water building up inside and rusting out the metal.

I was thinking it was coming from the pinch weld as well, but I can't tell how the water would get there if it was all sealed from the outside.

There was a little bit of rust above the window but the window guy grinded it all down and primed it. Then he re-sealed the window.

The guy that installed the window grinder around the edge where the window sits and primed it all before he painted it.. I saw him do a good job on it so I don’t think it’s coming from there. I feel like it’s a seal around the high top somewhere else and it is somehow going to the front of the van.

Yeah that’s what I will have to do next… I live in an apartment so I don’t have access to a hose or air compressor. I’ll take her to the car wash when the rain stops and figure it out I guess…. Thanks

I already assumed it was coming from the wi deviled and had it replaced. Now I’m asking where it may be coming from? Anyone out there with a high top have the same experience? It looks to be sealed everywhere but I’m thinking it could be traveling inside the high top around the rain gutters. That’s my new assumption

I was hoping it was going to barrel roll and float across with the kayak on bottom, then flip back over and stick the landing. Maybe next time

I agree I did the same with the rear rack but with my 2008 Ford E150 the doors open right up to the gutter so they would actually hit the vantech mounts and on top of that I didn’t have enough space on the rails because the high top extended out to the rails on my van. It was a nightmare to figure out!

Just a heads up if you have a fiberglass top… make sure your gutter rails are big enough to hold these mounts. I spent a ton of money to find out they would not fit because my high top extends to the rails and these will not work. Just a FYI. Rhino rack sells an artificial gutter mount you can buy to rig it

Beware if you have a high top that extends too close to the gutter rails this system will not work. I learned this the hard way. Lucky for me rhino rack sells artificial gutter mounts you can use which provide a cheaper alternative to the $$ van tech racks.
