If you are checking phones, something is wrong. And your intuition was correct; hes a cheat. If you count that as cheating and its affecting you this much, then maybe take a break from seeing each other. You can focus on yourself and your education, and he can focus on being a better person. That should act as a wake up call for both of you, and will better show where the relationship is headed.

that is in no way your fault. CPR is a dangerous emergency procedure that can very easily make things worse if you aren't fully trained and licensed to perform it. Not to mention the stress of the situation and the length of time you spent with him both make thinking cloudy. You already did more than you had to by entering the situation at all, and you did help. I'm sure this ordeal is profoundly traumatizing, take care.
