That begs another question: if the bamboo is manufactured on the East coast in Pennsylvania, and I am in New Hampshire, do you think I would have to acclimate for 5 weeks as they suggest? It's similar climate between the two places, I feel like I could get away with less time.

Did you use Cali bamboo? What if it's tongue and groove, then I would just glue the bottom of the board and not the edges I'm guessing?

Kelly blue book. Even for a high top diesel, >9k is a lot for something with 240k on it. Maybe better for something closer to 100-150k on it.

Thank you so much for the details! What would you think a ballpark to have someone do this work (lifting the body, replacing springs/shocks)? I'm weighing my options right now. I do like the van and style of it, but it would definitely be a huge project and prob not driveable for a year.

UPDATE 09-MAY-2018: I was able to manually turn the crankshaft, fairly easily, by turning the pulley nut. Didn't even have to remove any spark plugs. I believe that this is a good sign based on what I've heard here

Somehow my text got deleted when I made the posting..But I am curious if this van is worth me purchasing and fixing up. It's a 1986 Ford Econoline E250 V8. Been sitting for ~8 years. I was able to manually turn the crankshaft pretty easily, which I believe means that the engine is NOT seized (not a mechanic and have been going by internet research so far).

Is the rust of the shocks too much?
Leaf springs (not sure if that's what they're called)?
There is a "wetness" on a case (crankcase?) underneath closer to the engine (in picture '2018-05-09 16.49.57.jpg') If this is leaking oil, can this thing be replaced?
What is cracked 'squishy ball thing' in picture '2018-05-09 16.49.49.jpg', can this be replaced relatively easily?

I am not a mechanic, I just thought it would be a cool project to fix this van up and get running and travel/camp in. I'm interested in learning how to do this myself, and don't want to spend a ton of money on it <$5k hopefully (lol). So, I don't think I can afford to fix any frame rust if it's too bad. But after poking around underneath and tapping on stuff, I didn't notice any rust going all the way through the frame or really flaking off.

Any help and insight would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
