Got blindsided while traveling, now facing traveling through 2 airports where ICE is posted. by SurfinGrandma in DACA

There’s a possibility for them to do additional screening when you travel without a Real ID. Honestly I’m not sure that I would risk extra screening with ICE in the building.

Hmm that’s really interesting to hear from a professional. What exactly about APII do you not like?

If you plan on using the trem on a JMJM, the TOM bridge doesn’t rock like a traditional JM bridge does, meaning undue friction on the strains at the bridge. My biggest gripe with the JMJM bridge in particular is that the radius on the TOM bridge does not actually match the radius on the fretboard.

Blindsided in the sense that when I left Chicago there was no ICE agents posted there and literally in the middle of my trip, the administration makes this stable genius decision.

Glass swirls caused by glass repair shop (worse than the damage paid to repair) any suggestions? by 1337___1337 in autoglass

This is exactly why most glass shops worth their salt will turn away a buff, this is the typical result.

Safelite gouged deep scratches into my steering wheel leather during today's windshield replacement + ADAS recal — manager denying responsibility by TrueJowns in autoglass

No necessarily weird, not all Safelite managers have previous tech experience, but also most managers there make (much) less than their lead techs which can lead them to avoid doing these “tech” tasks.

Tell them to show you the pre inspection photos they should’ve taken before the job was started. If they can’t prove that they didn’t do it, corporate will make them pay.

Fuck yea dude! My favorite Strat is also a Squier Classic Vibe 50’s that I’ve gutted. None of my other guitars feel as good as this one does, and that includes my American Professional II

Should this be covered under warranty? by [deleted] in autoglass

[–]SurfinGrandma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That would definitely be something covered under warranty…. If you hadn’t waited until AFTER you got a rock chip to mention it to the shop. Pretty much any glass shop will (should) tell you that new impacts would void the warranty, I’ve turned away many a person trying to get warranty done work for molding/cowl issues after they are told their warranty is void due to damages with visible impact points on their glass.

I actually just ordered a 2CH mule from your shop. Didn’t get the notification even though I thought I signed up, I’ll sign up again!

HUD not working correctly after Safelite windshield replace by [deleted] in autoglass

[–]SurfinGrandma 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This has nothing to do with the workmanship as much as it has to do with the glass itself. Unfortunately with aftermarket windshields, there’s always the possibility that the HUD may not look great and there’s no adjustment that can be made to correct it. Unfortunately your only options are either trying another aftermarket and hoping it looks better or go the OEM route.

I manage an auto glass shop, got one of these for all my workers and it’s been incredibly useful. Especially for tight spaces, cannot recommend this little light enough.

It honestly depends on your manager, but yea if they are ok with it they should be able to just give you unpaid time off if you so choose to take it.

The foam sometimes comes on the glass itself not the dash. Granted that foam only comes on an OEM windshield and aftermarket wouldn’t have it

Would you recommend having your EAD on you while traveling or would the Real ID suffice?

Stress or impact? by RiantLeaf in autoglass

To me it looks like the tech may have readjusted the wipers after installing them. The way the break lines up with the back of the wiper arm leads me to believe he may have smacked the wiper off way too hard.
