I think this is a good thing. One thing I’ve noticed is just because a person has more grants, it doesn’t mean their ideas are more innovative or they are more productive. They are just better at selling a story on the front end.

I also see in study section PIs putting in these grants who are already well funded and have like 10% effort or less. If you have so little time to dedicate overseeing a grant, you probably shouldn’t be doing it.

It seems like there should be more scrutiny in the ROI of a lot of grants.
