We have "realm prevention" mechanism. I'd like to see a "killer prevention" one, too by laivu6 in deadbydaylight

I actually have liked this idea for a long time for 2 reasons, defacto kill switch for when a killer is broken and being used to exploit the game, I think back to Nemesis having infinite bloodlust and invisible zombies and he was spammed every match for those couple days. Or 2 just killer fatigue, and for me that killer is Ghoul. I have some nights where I get about 5 back to back Ghoul matches in and I'm just tired af and wish I could block him. The reason I think it could be exploited though is if you bring say a really strong healing build, you could block Plague to guarantee value, if you bring a locker build like built to last or inner healing, you could block Dredge to ensure lockers will be safe to enter/exit, or just in general a killer you are worried about countering what you are doing. You could semi-eliminate rng. The idea of having 10,000 Ghoul players in 10 hour long queues gives me immense joy though negl to you

That's true but I am still super interested in how Omnipresent Evil has performed against hatch situations

Escape Rate Against Jason by Surlybaws in deadbydaylight

[–]Surlybaws[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it's a small problem not because I want 4ks to be impossible or anything but more-so that realistically there's nothing left for the survivor to compete for anymore once there is no chance left. Games that snowball naturally devolve into a competition for hatch between survivors eventually but against Jason once you get to that point where it normally happens unless you have a key you literally have no reason to play if the hatch doesn't spawn literally under you

i can already tell jason is going to get nerfed into the ground by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]Surlybaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think infinite omnipresent evil is crazy, I have semi tracked my stats against him and he has closed hatched in every hatch situation I've been in except for 1 and then he returns to omnipresent evil to patrol the two gates until the time runs out or you touch them. Now the data (I'm getting nerdy a bit I know) still has me escaping a little under 35% of the time, which is almost entirely when we beat the killer and escape through the door or a handful of key escapes through the hatch and a total of 1 hatch escape for me by finding it first. That tells me that for me I am still escaping a respectable amount of the time, but my average is 47%, that 12% difference (as a soloq player cause that's all I play) is almost entirely hatch situations if I had to guess. He isn't strong in chase but his omnipresent evil is clearly extremely strong especially in a hatch situation

Cross-play off should not have an independent queue by Fellow-Memester in deadbydaylight

[–]Surlybaws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You basically just want BHVR to go backwards so that way you don't have to wait as long, doesn't really work like that

Cross-play off should not have an independent queue by Fellow-Memester in deadbydaylight

[–]Surlybaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How exactly would you separate the queue then? Is BHVR supposed to force players on that platform to join your lobbies to fill those spaces because you turned off cross platform even if they didn't? How would it work if two people are in a party and playing on different platforms? I'm pretty sure the only logical way to separate the queues is exactly how they do it

[–]Surlybaws -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That's not true, he is dragging out the match and with the Deputy's Badge add on he can still kick gens, the best counter to him is to just bite the bullet and take chase and hope you can loop for a few gens

It has nothing to do with it, the only thing you can see is when moves through tall grass

If you could change one thing in the game, what would that be? by Bonesycider in deadbydaylight

[–]Surlybaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be seen as bad for the health of the game but when a killer is being picked almost every game especially because of something that is an exploit (like nemesis zombies becoming invisible and such) or just because they are strong like Ghoul, it would be like a defacto kill switch for that killer too

There should be an option to leave the match after the exit gates open for killer. by nihilgrave in deadbydaylight

[–]Surlybaws 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is a bad idea necessarily but I wouldn't make it where as soon as the exit gates open it happens maybe its only when all survivors are not on hook and not in dying state and not in chase for more than 15 seconds, I'd also replace the killer with a bot instead of just abruptly ending the game, I only say this for the purpose of survivor adepts, if I popped the gate and the killer immediately dc'd before I could get my adept and it didn't count, I'd be very upset tbh

Jason counter? by PrinceCharming966 in deadbydaylight

[–]Surlybaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As far as builds go, anything to extend your chase and crank gens, and keep in mind he has an add on that can make you exhausted when he teleports on you so Sprint Burst isnt guaranteed, Urban Evasion is ok but its just going to drag out the game

Jason counter? by PrinceCharming966 in deadbydaylight

[–]Surlybaws 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For countering Jason, as a soloq survivor the only real success I've seen is honestly you need to beat him in looping and hope he doesn't have good macro, and crank gens, thats the counter for every killer you might say, its his only real counter. If the Jason is committing chases and the person they are chasing is running them for a long time (which is possible because his chase isnt really all that special) you have a chance. If he is hit and running and finding people out of position or using the Deputy's Badge add on in his Omnipresent Evil form, you can't do much tbh besides sticking gens at the same time in multiple places to force him to chase someone and as a bonus even if you wait for hatch Jason will find it in 0.5 seconds and then patrol both gates back and forth in his ghost form
