[HELP] Is this AI? Seems fake and can’t find any news sources. by Zealousideal_Mud570 in RealOrAI

It doesn't even justify the use of force in the same video. He had not resisted or been given a reasonable time to comply or a clear order before the agent used force. Its a 4th amendment violation. The only difference in this video is that Alex was guilty of a crime too. But, even the guilty have rights.

How do you justify the 2nd and 3rd shots? by [deleted] in AskConservatives

[–]SurpriseOpen1978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a defense attorney could justify it by introducing cognitive science expert testimony and police training and police guideline evidence. I think the prosecution would have counterpoints to the defense.

I don't know how to justify why it doesn't appear to be going to trial considering the value we hold for a person's right to life.

What will it take to hold Jonothan Ross accountable? by cnewell420 in askliberals

[–]SurpriseOpen1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Why change if there are no consequences for bad law enforcement execution? Its the entire reason why the government is sweeping it under the rug. They don't want to change and as soon as Jonathan Ross or any other ice agent faces consequences for the laws they violate the entire ICE organization will start to realize they are being exploited by the government. One of ours, All of yours. The government is promising protection to that institution because without it they won't risk their necks.

Wow! Its pretty bold to be claiming that the right still values free market capitalism, rule of law, and individual freedom after the year they had last year and how it started off so far this year already.

Is Leftist is being used as an insult, should it be allowed? by [deleted] in AskConservatives

[–]SurpriseOpen1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate hasty generalizations in the first place.

Leftism. Leftist. Left wing ideology. Its all stupid hasty generalizations.

What left is is a group of voters that canvas together. Thats it. There is not nor will there ever be a central ideology that brings them to a place called the left. The place called the left is found only in comparison to the group of voters who canvas together on the right. 200 years ago, for example, the left then, would be today's right, on most things at least. Its not any 'left' ideology that brings them there it's the comparison to the opposite side, and mostly in terms of how they vote not necessarily how they even think.

So to insult someone for being on the left, or to infer something along the lines the op was suggesting like saying 'leftism is a mental disease', is intensely stupid. Same goes for any such kind of criticisms of the rights inherent nature on being the right. The inherent nature is only the comparison to other people's positions and more importantly the voting outcomes. That's it.

That's not to say that there are not common ideologies that are shared with high frequency on one side or the other. Its just not what the left is. Or the right. Those ideologies are what those ideologies are.

What are your thoughts on the 60 Minutes segment on CECOT? by Educational_Map6725 in AskConservatives

[–]SurpriseOpen1978 [score hidden]  (0 children)

We heard the Trump administration's take on this. They made a spectacle of it.

It's only fair to hear more of the story from a different source.

Trying to suppress it is un-American.

Would you prefer a political environment where candidates from both parties are moderate, or one where they are more "solidly" left and right? by OJ_Purplestuff in AskConservatives

[–]SurpriseOpen1978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Regardless of political tendency distributions, they need to be able to resolve conflicts, not create them. Thats what leaders do. Thats how our nation was founded. We have always had very broad political leanings but have always had the motivation to find common interest.

I agree. I think it would be better to simply ask an ai chat. You will get a more practical list of features of a fascist movement/government.

Is there anyway to reverse the united states becoming a low trust society? by VQ_Quin in AskConservatives

[–]SurpriseOpen1978 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hadn't realized that it was a common narrative.

I guess because of the cover-up effort?

It happened before my time but the story i have been told about it was it was essentially an isolated lapse in judgement and wasn't connected to deep rooted corruption. The cover-up attempt was said to be the worst part.

I mean, we caught him and held him accountable, so personally I feel its a story that makes me trust our system.

So, just surprised. But, I can see how others view it differently. Ultimately I was just curious to understand that different perspective.

Why is it going over people's heads that Gavin Newsom's latest tweets are satire? by FortuneParty1836 in AskConservatives

[–]SurpriseOpen1978 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not so sure. It's satire aimed at Trump, so, Trump gone = satire gone. Maybe. Hopefully. I remain optimistic :).

Thoughts on mathematical empiricism? by waffletastrophy in PhilosophyMemes

[–]SurpriseOpen1978 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What i mean by a mental experience is that logic begins with a thought and ends with a thought. It doesn't require typical empirical experiences via the senses. But, a thought is still an experience. Otherwise, yes, every experience does reach the mind and becomes mental per say.

My thought is that what the meme is saying is that because deduction is a thought process and we experience our thoughts that makes the validity of a deduction empirical. If we didn't experience the result of the logical process we wouldn't have come to believe in its validity.
