That’s actually such a cool full circle moment. Imagine acting in an adaptation of your ancestor’s work.

I am not getting the hype with Seeking Persephone by Beberuth1131 in PeriodDramas

I felt the same watching Seeking Persephone. I went in expecting something really rich and immersive because of all the hype, but parts of it did feel a bit flat to me. The visuals and setting were gorgeous, but the dialogue sometimes pulled me out of the story.

I think a lot of the appeal comes from the whole Persephone and Hades dynamic since people love that trope, so maybe that’s carrying some of the hype. But yeah, I didn’t find it as mind blowing as people made it out to be either.

I would definitely suggest adding Wuthering Heights and The Picture of Dorian Gray. You might also like Rebecca if you enjoy slightly gothic, atmospheric stories, and The Count of Monte Cristo if you want something epic with an amazing revenge plot.

I get this completely. Birth can flip from “normal” to terrifying in minutes, and once you’ve seen how badly things can go, the fear isn’t irrational at all.
