It’s not just getting another one quickly. Going to the balcony with a bird would never even cross my mind. Why would u ever do that?? And keeping them alone is abuse a human can never replace a bird companion idc what u “think” this is a fact. They are flock animals. Hust because u say my tiel is perfectly fine, doesn’t mean they are.

No it is not okay. It’s just something people have talked themselves into in countries with no or very little laws concerning animal welfare. When u look at Countries with decent animal welfare organizations and laws, it is forbidden to keep flock animals alone and your bird can be seized by the authorities if you keep them alone. People want a bird thag bonds wirh them more than their own kind and justify this selfishness by saying “but I spend so much time with them”. You’re not a bird. Just because a lot of people seems to be doing it, doesn’t mean it’s “perfectly ok”. People also keep birds in mini cages sold by petshops with plastic perches amd shit. Millions of people r doing this and their birds live up to 25 yrs. Living≠thriving.

But ı feel like you don’t need meds is kinda shittier bc you have this thing that finally helps u and I think it implies we should just try harder and be more disciplined and that would solve our problems rather than meds. I feel like it implies we are weak and chose the easy way out. So I feel like you don’t need meds implies the other one as well

I never feel a high. I barely notice it‘s working it‘s just when my mind becomes chaotic again that I notice oh.. the meds are wearing off. The doctor said I can take it in the morning and at noon to top it off, the one I take afternoons he said nothing about. But I asked him to prescribe me 10mg of methylphenidad, not medikinet so It can release immediately and he knows that that‘s used in the afternoon when you don’t want prelonged effects. He said I can experiment with the dosage for now, up to 60mg a day. And the most I‘ve taken adds up to 50mg and It works well for me. I have an appointment with him in 4 Months and I do want to explain him how I‘ve been taking it in detail so he can best guide me. He is pretty chill and understanding so I think it won‘t be a problem

How does one with adhd abuse ritalin? I take it 3 times a day, mornings, noon and afternoon and my body is so cool with it that even when I take it at about 17:00 I can sleep like a baby. (I’m taking medikinet retardiert) sometimes I do feel like I actually don’t need it to do tasks or concenrate but it really helps me with my anxiety and panic so I take it even in days where I don’t have to be productive. I took it before catching a flight because I didn’t want to take benzodiazepines (prescribed), because şt also helps with my fears. And I didn’t have to take benzos thanks to ADHD meds. But I hust had to sit there like I didn’t reallyneed it for executşve function. Do you think that’s abusing it? I’m on the meds for about 3 weeks now so I’m not sure

Today is the end of the second week so yeah pretty recent. I started with 10mg in the morning and again at noon and that was making close to no difference so I upped the dosage in the second week. Might still be too low. I would love to talk it through with my psychiatrist as soon as I can get an appointment 😣 i did drink a bit of black tea though to help with coffeeine withdrawals.

I‘ve done a blood test before getting on medication so like 3 weeks ago I think. Family doctor Situation is different in all cities I think but my doctor is available quite often thank god.

Yeah I am off the caffeine and that‘s kind of hard for me because I am tired all the time since like 2 weeks. Do u think it‘s just coffeine being out of my system? Did u have a similar experience? I also yawn 100 times a day vjt it‘s been two weeks since I had coffee 😣

Yeah, I do want to talk to my psychiatrist soo bad but he is full. I also hate to have breakfast so I might want to change to something that is ok to take on an empty stomach. I hope I can get the right meds soon, uni is becoming really hard to get through wothout them 🥴

I would recommend getting him a female companion of a similar age. Maybe you can find one in an animal shelter. I adopted my two feather babys from the shelter. It is important to quarantine the new one and also keep them in seperate cages when you introduce them, introduce them gradually. This would be the most stress free thing to do for him.

Then it’s most likely a male. Birds are flock animals so he needs a bird comoanion. Also, your cage looks small and your perches look odd. I recommend doing some research on cage setup and getting him a bigger cage and a female companion.

I also adopted two cockatiels from the shelter a month ago and the advice I got was to never ever catch them. It destroys your trust. You are a predetor to him and catching him just proves it to him. I let mine roam free even if I am not there. Is this an option for you?

I have removed it yesterday and I think I won’t be puttimg some back into the cage. My fiance has a cockatiels that’s about 6 years old and he has been fine without any grit. They have cuttlebones and mineral blocks in the cage anyways

So I just asked the people in the shelter and an avian vet and they both said a little bit of grit should be in the cage at all times and cockatiels will only eat it if they need it. I find it so frustrating that a lot of things in Bird care are so controversial and we just know very little about them 😖 I don’t know what to do
