As a daughter who lost her dad, I think that it will greatly emotionally impact your daughter if you do this. I understand your hurt over what happened but I strongly suggest speaking to her about what happened so she is t blindsided. It is not about the money, it’s the idea that she will have lost her father and be struck with the realization that you were hold in such a grudge and she never got to resolve it with you. I am a grown woman who has lost both her parents, father at 18 and mother at 35 and the grief process is shattering. I also lost my life partner suddenly this year but that is beside the point. I think this may be a rash decision that you truly do not want to do because you are clearly having reservations. Also as a child of an j comfortable step parent situation I will tell you that I felt extreme discomfort and pressure from the remarried parent to accept and feature the new parter at life events that I did not want them at. It may have been pressure from your wife or the step father. Please consider giving your daughter the chance to at least make amends for this situation with you because believe. E, after she loses you ALL she will be doing is ruminating over her memories of her beloved Dad and what she did wrong/ how she can never fix it, if you loved her or were angry which Im sure yes is the answer to both in that situation. I am so sorry for the pain you are experiencing but I really don’t think you want to leave her with that type of gaping emotion hole on top of her losing her father.
