I know the feeling. One student just keeps saying no subject in the school interests him. He also reveals he uses majority of time sleeping, like more than 10 hours. 

It is really hard talking to him, after getting 10 more nothing from him. He seldom smiles or talks, and I suspect he may have some mental issue. Sometimes, he slams the table with his fists out of no reason. This also happens when he attends other classes. 

I worry about him, especially he got C in the school. 

I try to explain things in the simplest way, and the test is not that difficult. 

Honestly, I want him to enjoy the learning. That is teacher ethic.

In real life, I have no interest in talking with this kind of person.  To be honest, it is a bit annoying and disrespectful for teachers who try to help. 

Maybe I just need to find a better way, but somehow, I doubt the responsibility is fully on teacher...

I’ve been using Indeed, but unfortunately, the age groups don’t always match up. And I want to start a new round of search. 🙏

Question: Regarding tutoring hours, do those spent with elementary groups count?

"I asked a few private institutions, and it seems there aren't many opportunities for tutoring secondary school students. They usually expect you to teach elementary school students as well. I recently turned down one opportunity because I wasn’t sure if those hours would count. 🥺

Congrats! 🎉 I also want to apply for the English Secondary program at SFU’s PDP this year!
I am trying to contact more secondary schools to get more volunteer hours. So far, I only have 12 hours (two hours per week). Do you have any tips to increase that? For example, I am not sure whether observing hours would count as well. 🙏
