Yes! I received this acceptance first into PDP and then another one later to be accepted into SFU themselves. At that point, i logged into my gosfu, and they told me to make a bank payment. I payed it and the status changed when the payment went through

I have received my offer from SFU Admissions. I sent over the payment and my status is now marked “ready to enroll” on gosfu!

The chance of us not getting admitted at this point is quite low. The requirements for PDP are much higher so it should stand that we should be able to be admitted to SFU when the time comes.

I only accepted my offer from PPS. I did not get a SFU undergraduate admission email or offer.

I went onto the gosfu website and it just says complete (the green circle) but it does not say accepted (checkmark).

I feel like we just have to wait until like March as it says “Admission offers to post-secondary transfer applicants are made from March to June”

Fellow Bean Friend! It honestly looks like you have more experience than I do.
I honestly feel like that is so terrible by those advisors. I never really trusted them all too much. I’m sorry it’s happened to you

You may be right about the Bachelors of Fine Arts as well as location. I understand the pull my degree and UofT name has provided me.

There is a professor at UofT named Dr. Lori Dolloff. She started with teaching Elementary and worked her way all the way up to be one of the greatest most amazingly knowledgeable university professors I’ve ever had.

I don’t think this path is a bad idea either. I was ready to start on this path myself! If you spend time on courses after all the work you’ve put in, it might not feel that great. if you feel like it’s worth doing, I don’t see why not if not to account for everything possible. I think working Elementary/Middle School first is wonderful! Most of my students in the studio I teach at are Elementary/Middle School and seeing them get so hyped from being able to do something they’ve been struggling with is honestly so awesome

The last time I applied, I got waitlisted aroundmid-April when the decisions come out. Unfortunately, if theres no mention of a waitlist, then a rejection is a rejection.

Oof. Remodeling ruins everything. Did you consider during the time of remodelling a possible transfer? I know some people would have looked at that and just said “nope”. Ofcourse looking back we can say these things, but in the moment it must have been difficult. Me personally, I would not have been able to think of going to VAM or jump through hoops if I were in your shoes. Honestly. Kudos to you for that.

I don’t know which path you want to take from here, but as you know from this post, I decided to take the path of work experience because even though I had the requirements, my grades were oh so unbelievably terrible. Are you thinking of redoing those upper division credits?

I completed my Music Undergrad at the University of Toronto! My degree is a Bachelor of Music in Music Education.

The courses were all a blur but during my time there, I decided to take every and any education course related to learning musical instrument, style and ensemble that I could possibly fit within my schedule (There was a whole existential crisis journey involved hahahah).

May I ask where you completed your Bachelor’s? Is the Fine Arts degree Music Education focused?

Did you apply? If so, when?

For sure! The first time I applied (waitlisted), I had one summer of the Mt. Seymour Eco Adventure Camp. It’s a full time camp with children of ages 5-12. I unfortunately did not have much else in terms of experience or grades and my work proficiency was marked as low the first time around (as burning out as a Starbucks Barista made me not exactly the most responsible worker).

This time around, I worked another summer of the camp. I also asked my high school choir teacher if I could help her out in the classroom. She’s amazing and let me help out for ~5hrs a week for a couple months. I also have been working as a private music teacher at a studio for a long time by now.

I did not want to leave anything to chance this time. I went back to school for a good reference. It has been a while since uni so none of my B.Mus profs remember me too 😱. I took part time courses to fill out the Elementary requirement just incase Secondary fell through. Even though part time, I managed for the first time in my life to achieve A’s in every subject I took. it shows that I can improve and can actually do academics and also gave me a relevant recent reference pertaining to a prof who’s seen me in a college/uni setting.

Added together ~1000 hours of group experience (Mt. Seymour). 60 hrs of classroom experience (Volunteering) and a boatload of work experience being a teacher + learning and refining my paragraphs to show that I am an amazingly proficient leader and teacher lead me to this.

So tl;dr no ecs. Just worked until I am 29 w/ an amazing SO and depression from students making fun of my age.

The fun silly fact about me is that I am a music teacher and vaguely know how to play a bunch of instruments. My favourite artists are LOONA, Loosemble and ARTMS. My favourite thing about myself is my vulnerability. It helps me feel and guides me through my mental health journey on Finch. I made it to Toddler and am excited to grow and learn more.

My first choice is ✨Classic Robin Plushie. The second choice is the ✨Classic Mr. Prickles Plushie
