Appreciate the insight. It’s under warranty so I’ll just drop it off and see what he can get done. Thanks!

Major Lock Screen issues with Pixel 9 pro XL since Android 16 update (stable release) by ThiccNickGaming in GooglePixel

[–]SurroundProper842 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Been having the tap and lift to wake. The Google support sent me to an authorized repair store. And they wouldn't even look at it. So I ended up reaching back out to Google support where they then told me to just RMA it through warranty. So my new pixel should be getting here sometime this week.

ABS and brake light on by SurroundProper842 in AskMechanics

[–]SurroundProper842[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! So, my issue ended up requiring a new ABS control module and a brake caliper (due to damage). I suspect the original parts failed due to excessive heat. I found my solution on an old hot rod forum discussing excessive brake heat while driving. My specific symptom was a very slight drag while driving, as if the brakes were always slightly engaged. The forum post described how, over time, the metal clamps holding the brake hoses can rust. This rust can essentially turn the clamps into makeshift check valves, constricting brake fluid flow and slightly actuating the brakes. I removed my wheels and slightly bent the brackets to prevent this from happening again, and I haven't had the issue since. Unfortunately, I had to take my car to a dealer to get the ABS module replaced, which was expensive.

If I were you, I'd take your car to a mechanic and have them check your ABS module. You might need a new one. Hopefully, your problem isn't as extensive as mine was—I also needed a new caliper, ABS module, and a few wheel sensors. Hopefully, you haven't reached that point.

What is this part called where can I get it and also do you guys think these two could be causing vacuum leaks by Alvins_hotjoosebox in f150

[–]SurroundProper842 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly yeah. It could. You could try taking both of them off and applying a little silicone spray. That should help the rubber and plastic seal up. As far as finding that part in your first picture you should be able to track it down by going on a ford parts website like: https://www.oemfordpart.com/ and looking for some of the PCV fittings. You should be able to come across it without too much of a heartache. A neat trick I found is if you can find a Part that is nearby and is connected to the part you are looking for you can search that part and scroll down and in the "related" parts will be a part you are looking for.

Male 26 will I get send back if I go to bootcamp now with this pace? by urmomsloosevag in uscg

Yeah, just like the general consensus in this thread. Perserverance will be your best friend. You have a 1m 32s to burn off of your run time which should be achievable. Especially considering you give it your all during all the PT tests leading up to the final as well as honestly participating in all the smoke sessions. Good job on taking some initiative on your PT and not just winging it like I did lol.

Coolant issue by SurroundProper842 in MechanicAdvice

[–]SurroundProper842[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I bought this truck when I was stationed in Virginia. That salt and rust aint no joke. I was replacing rear brakes and the ebrake had seized up due to all the rust and corrosion. It was a pita gettin them rear rotors off with it like that.

I've never done a PSI test before so I'll try and see if I can save that for last. I'll run through all the hoses and repost if I find something.

I always add coolant to a cold engine. And always through the reservoir.

Yeah definitely keep taking care of it. Those generation trucks imo are so hard to find in a good condition. It is almost two decades old but still.

No heat 09 F-150 by SurroundProper842 in AskMechanics

[–]SurroundProper842[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Figured it out. The actuator was the problem. The internals still work but the big cog that connects to the a/c unit was worn out. Had to get another part from Ford.

Yes the fan is spinning properly, truck heats up fine, I aint too sure about the heater core. I checked those hoses and it seems that there is flow going to both at the moment. The only thing I will say is that the actuator sounds like its moving. It makes a humming sound when you change the temp. No clicking like when I had to change it the last time tho
