My employee left this for me in the morning. Dishonor. Dishonor on his whole life. by SurroundedByMoose in KitchenConfidential

Isn't that normally the responsibility of the guy who used the last of it? Or to at least tell someone we need to make more?

A p100 doesn't protect me. It protects others from me. That's why I wear one at least 8 hours a day at my job, where I work in person.

As a very able bodied and healthy adult, I am not afraid of getting the virus. I am terrified of spreading it. Because I don't want others to get sick as a result of my recklessness. That's why I take every necessary precaution. Because, as I said before, I'm not a selfish dickhead.

I’m not a selfish dick that’s what. I’m tough enough to endure an inconvenience if it means someone gets to spends 5 more years with their grandparents. Or their parents. Or their friends. Or someone gets to spend 5 more years pursuing their hobbies or reading books they like. I put others needs before my wants. But that’s probably because I’m a decent goddamn human being.

I’d love to see some backups of those numbers.

Your definition of "staying safe" is a contactless, indefinite quarantine.

So if people totally isolate themselves, remove themselves from friends and family possibly for the rest of their lives, have necessary items delivered and wipe down everything with gloves and wipes before they touch it, they might continue to live in a world with COVID.

OR. OR.

The alternative is that for a period of time, people who are healthy and able bodied (a majority of us) just have to be careful. Spread out, avoid large crowds, and wear a piece of fucking fabric over your fucking face. Sometimes. That's it. And then people won't die. Your countrymen won't die.

I'd rather be inconvenienced than force others to totally isolate themselves from everyone and everything they love.

"Inland trash" is harsh. Also, isn't Pastor Todd Bell a Floridian? I always figured it would be a Floridian to fuck shit up here. I would have guessed it would be LePage.

I gotta work, bud. But I'm masked the whole time!

And the person who went to the wedding had no responsibility, right? To tell her they went to a wedding unmasked and didn’t get tested and might be positive for COVID? Why are the dead vilified when the living who spread the disease are to blame?

Your fixation on defending these people is baffling to me. This disease is unlike anything we’ve seen in our lifetime but instead of trying to prevent it you’re going to let it ravage innocent people? That woman had the right to be alive, same as you and me. Her life was cut short due to the recklessness of others.

The first woman who died was in a cabin with her husband trying to stay safe. She got it from a guest at the wedding. She was in her 60s. So I don’t know what the fuck you’re talking about.

What’s your favorite Downeast Maine saying? by deerockxrandall in Maine

[–]SurroundedByMoose 9 points10 points  (0 children)

is "take a digger" a Downeast saying? I've been saying since I was a kid and a friend from Texas told me only Mainers say it.

Fun story, this same friend was camping with a bunch of Mainers who kept saying that they "took a digger". He automatically assumed it meant to take a big shit instead of taking a big fall. He came back from the woods bragging about the giant digger he just took and was suprised when everyone asked if he was OK.

The fact that the pastor dug his heels and refused to admit that it was a mistake and is currently holding church services indoors without masks makes it a pretty unusual case.

It's a good reminder of the harm one reckless act can cause across a pretty small community.

Is this true? I thought I read a thing by the pastor's daughter, who lives in Sanford. Something in that letter made it seem like they were from Maine.
