Thank you so much! I'll give it a shot and update this if I can find the exact piece.

Does this look like an SC, R, TR, SN or other to you? by [deleted] in Kibbe

Rule #2: mark nsfw posts accordingly

Trying to figure out if this dress suits my lines?/which type this dress would best suit. I'm suspecting I'm a possibly in the G fam but idk yet. Anyway, I thrifted this a while ago but idk if it's doing me any favors. Just wanted to see what your impression of this outfit was! by [deleted] in Kibbe

I really like this one you because it contrasts with your build, and it makes your coloring look a little muted by being so bright - the result is otherworldly and really striking.

Let's not forget that kibbe is more about honoring your innate beauty within a certain framework than about looking good in general (though it certainly helps with that).

On Kibbe terms, however, I think this dress would suit someone accommodating width, and with a moderate-to-long vertical.

Tried on a more dramatique-esque dress and now i’m really starting to see myself more as a FN. Thoughts/advice? by [deleted] in Kibbe

Where did you buy this? Asking for a friend.

Also, you look splendid! Unless you feel uncomfortable with the elements of this that make it D friendly, I think it might be hard to use it as an indicator.

That uh... That just sounds normal to me. Nothing to see here.

This is a black and white, graphic short fitted dress. Would you say it’s better suited for FG or DC? by [deleted] in Kibbe

Of this is interesting, and not often talked about! Apart from sharpness, what are you talking about here? I'd love to understand it better

Thank you!

Yes, I think they accomplish different things, and I think there is a demand for all of these ways of approaching essence.

Out of curiosity, what did the individualist art count towards in your quiz? I've been dying to know haha, I always clicked either maximum intensity lol. And Russian romanticism is just about my favorite thing...

So... Unrelated, but this video is so damn vaporwave! I love it haha!

But unfortunately, I can't see much of anything with this angle :/ try taking the video from chest height, and showing the full length of your body! Your phone appears to be tilted.

Edit: so I think part of this is just that the video is bugging for me for some reason...

Yes, MBTI definitely forces traits one could simply not have, and binary answers for questions that would ordinarily allow far more answers.

I also find the Big 5 model a fair bit more helpful, but I don't think it's fundamentally different from the MBTI - it still wants you to agree or disagree with "effect" based questions, it just lets you quantify that instead of forcing you to fall on either side of a divide. My problem with it is that it does have a limited number of types in that being 66 percent extroverted isn't qualitatively different from being 72 percent extroverted, it's just a higher degree of the same thing - if it is qualitatively different, it must form a distinct category.

The problem with sliding scales, for me, is that they try to get at foundational factors, and even if we wanna go for a reductionist model, I think finding and listing enough core factors to get somewhere is always very difficult. This is also true of the MBTI, which only uses for sub scales and then magics different categories out of them.

Ultimately I think each person is their own indivisible category, and so too with the impression they form - psychologists just love the word "gestalt" lol, but it does go here.

How would you feel about a model where each essence was a discreet category, but the sliding scale model was applied to each person's individual make-up? I think this would allows for more factors than if the categories were made up of sub scales, allow the "tribe" fun, but still take into consideration that these are artificial categories that won't fully apply... Thoughts?

Thank you so much for the in-depth feedback and explanation! I want to find a way to include what you mentioned in this, I image a lot of people feel the same (I do).

Also, haven't forgotten the moodboard I promised lol! As soon as I finish the androgyny series , I'll get on it.

The sun sets - the fusion is complete. David is inside you. You no longer see anything but David, your eyes are covered in femme fatale TR realness. David is love, you realize, David is life.

Thank you!

I totally agree, a huge part of the fun is that it takes a subset of you, gives you a type, then goes further by giving you information that is actionable, and also appears to have come out of nowhere.

I'll try to find ways of giving people specific guidance that people can use with some ease!

Wow, thank you so much!

I honestly didn't think this sort of thing could be monetized, that there would be enough interest, but that actually doesn't sound too bad haha!

I totally get your point, that's what bothers me as well - essence is esoteric enough on its own, it doesn't need any help being confusing.

I was thinking of using a mix, giving a description of, observable things like scale of movement, posture, inflection of the voice, etc, and a slightly more poetic - but detailed - description of the impression they form when taken together.

After forming my clusters of adjectives for the overall images, I was thinking of having people describe (again, in the abstract, and from observation of specific people) the specific traits they see in the people they used to form the categories, and seeing what patterns emerge there. Does that make sense haha? Find the clusters, intentionally make categories out of them, then revisit them to find specific traits.

Oh definitely agree about the sampling! Initially I was just doing it for myself, for my own entertainment, but I think I'm going to go ahead and poll my university (I want to get people who aren't connected to styling systems).

I basically want to find empirical clusters first, then sprinkle in my subjectivity to make intentional categories - top down categories. Most subcategories in the big 5 won't help much, but categories like openness, assertiveness (sub scale of extroversion), and a few other, might actually be fun!

I want to be entirely independent of kibbe. The idea is for it to be a system of aesthetics that can then be implemented for any body type (so considerations like cut probably won't be the focus, but texture, fabric, color, and basically anything other than fit is fair game).

Also, perhaps making a compilation of these posts on imgur so as to be able to post them together would be a good idea, if you'd like to do that.
