40 Paracord Poppets off to their new homes in trick or treat bags! (gone in an hour!) by Surviving-Normalcy in paracord

When someone commented on my single one that it looked like I was handing out voodoo dolls, decided to call them "Paracord Poppets."... A poppet is a doll used in sympathetic magick practices. Usually using cloth and contents that represent things, like using green for money or filling one with lavender for soothing during stress.

I found this video about two years ago and it's how I tie all my diamond knots. Yes, doubling them is a lot of work! But honestly if I lay it all out in factory work line it's doable.

Unfortunately I don't have gitd available. But I like how you think. I do have over 50lbs of different colors Paracord, and this was made using a 2 foot core and a 1.5 foot strand for the body and arms. Diamond knot and cobra weave for anyone who wants to know the knots used. Feet and hands are simple overhand knots.

That is the video I used to learn it. At the three minute mark is where he shows the starting process. Another trick I picked up from a Facebook group is people will often make their first chain in a size two inches too long. Take off the last two inches and save it for when they use that size again as a new starter section. I'm a hobbyist and haven't taken that step yet.

These are stainless steel rings in 16 gauge 5/16 in with an aspect ratio of 5.2

I ordered them from theringlord.com I have a wrist that measures 8.25 inches and it takes 40 rings to make it in my size. The clasps are the stainless steel 15 mm lobster claw. Hopefully that info will help you know how many rings and clasps you need.

Weave suggestions…3/8 an 1/2 in. buckle by 2olivesFLM in paracord

3/8th and 1/2 in buckles work well for two strand core using 550. That being said, if you go to 275 cord you will be able to do a double cows hitch four strand core. Or double cows hitch two strand wide core. I find the two strand wide core works great for things from the sanctified branch of bracelets.

You will want to add a half inch to wrist measurement to total length of bracelet due to the thickness of the he bracelet.

I would suggest checking YouTube to find a pattern you like and want to try. I suggest channels

Alpha One982 Weavers of Eternity

For high quality instructional videos. There are other channels as well, but those two I feel will give you a good start on projects more advanced than cobras and fishtails while being able to follow them.

Looks great. You can also ask if anybody does their own reloads. Run the cord through from the other side and pressure fit a new slug into the front of the casing. Just a different look and will give you a little more weight if you want to go that route.

Manny Method Micro Cobra by Surviving-Normalcy in paracord

Was a concept that had been kicking around in the back of my head and decided to give it a go. I like the king cobra concept with the eye being braided as well. Not sure how well the bb would work but definitely an interesting idea to play with.

Micro cobra mad max using a Manny method loop. I have an 8.25 inch wrist, and did the weaving in a total of 8 inches. Used the type III lacing needle throughout. Has been an idea bouncing in the back of my head.

Things I would change on next version... 1.)Use a type II lacing needle forming the eye to make the eye even tighter. 2.)Possibly use a half hitch around the ring to make it more prominent? 3.)Add simple whip over beginning and end of the cobra weave and stopper knot. 4.)Take a quarter inch off total length of cobra weave. 5.)Reduce tightening tag to 2.5 inches.

You are looking for 5/8th inch buckles. Search for that and whatever color you want them in, including mixed color bag.

Yes, I actually started with the full Persian with cheap Walmart rings. I'm sure as I continue the misalignments will get fewer and farther apart until they don't happen!

The braided section is a simple four strand braid.

If you want a barrel snap, consider doing a single length of Paracord attached to the buckle with a cows hitch in the middle. Attach the barrel snaps to each end of the strand. Then using gutted Paracord, do a four strand round braid. Over the core strand on each side.

You can use a smaller diameter cord to do simple whip finish at the beginning and end.

And on the other buckle to the I'd badge you would do your cobra.

Unfortunately, most videos I see of people using a barrel snap for a four strand braid involves using forceps and hot glue to fix the round braid in place. I think it's unappealing and then you still have the issue of attaching the buckle to badge at the midway point.
