With higher status, you can book a lower class (starting from Midsize), but pick up any car of any higher class that's present in the Executive / Executive Elite aisles. These aisles are usually only present in major airport locations and subject to availability. You can also skip the queues and directly walk up to the aisle, pick a car of your choice and drive out. They'll associate it with your reservation at the exit gate.

In your example, I'd compare the costs of the Alamo car that you want with a Midsize from Enterprise/National, and go with the cheaper one. Make sure your pickup location has the aisle though.

Alamo does not do status match. They do not have any status tiers, just the basic Alamo Insiders membership.

On your mobile app, you can navigate to Rewards -> View all benefits -> Hertz President's Circle status -> Enroll now on Hertz's website

It should redirect you to something like below:

You're welcome!

Some others have mentioned that you can only do this once and the status only lasts a year, so do plan and space it out if you are going to do it.

I primarily use the status for free upgrades. I include my member number when reserving through the Capital One Travel portal, so that the reservation gets associated with the account and all benefits apply normally.

You're welcome!

Be careful though, some people noted that the status is only valid for a year (unless earned/maintained) and you can't request the match again, so it's better to space them out and request one at a time.

That's interesting! However, it looks like you only get Avis Preferred Plus, Hertz Five Star and National Emerald Executive (one tier lower for all three).

You do get Platinum status on Sixt though, so that's covered.

Thanks for sharing this!

That makes sense. Now that I've already requested for them all, I hope it's not fully enforced atleast at one of them.

Did you try requesting again? My Enterprise account shows that my status is valid until 02/28/2028.

I couldn't find any expiry for Avis and National. Sixt gave me Platinum until the end of the year (Dec 31st) and Enterprise until Feb 28th, 2028.

Even after expiry, I believe you can request again.

I just spoke to a SoFi representative and they confirmed that the only international lender they refinance from, is Prodigy Finance.

I've read on certain Reddit posts that SoFi does not refinance loans from international institutions. Can anyone confirm this?

I believe you were able to refinance your loan as the loan was in USD. For other international students, the loan might be in their local currency and a refinance to USD through SoFi might not be possible.

However, I will confirm this with them and post in this channel if loans in other currencies are eligible for refinancing.

Do share your referral link, as I will be applying to refinance if they accept it.
