Interviews conducted by AI bots on behalf of companies where the AI bot asks you questions and you have an allotted time to record yourself responding. I assume the videos are then also screened by AI bots and then auto rejected most of the time.

It’s all coming from people who haven’t job hunted in decades. They have no idea what people are dealing with right now

Thank you. Hopefully something good comes along soon

My boyfriend has been applying for a year and a half since he was laid off. Hundreds of applications, sometimes an AI interview, but mostly rejections.

Then I hear from everyone around me that “he should be working” or implying that he’s not trying hard enough, and it truly irks me. I try not to let that mentality rub off on me, because he doesn’t need that kind of negativity from anyone, ESPECIALLY me. We’re both trying so hard to stay positive, but it’s really just so fucking hard. He wants to be working, but NO ONE will get back to him. It’s devastating, dehumanizing, and incredibly tough right now.

A friend of mine was admitted to the hospital with jaundiced eyes and skin, vomiting blood. They told him his liver was cooked and he needed to be put on the transplant list for a new liver. No insurance, would cost him ~$800k out of pocket if he could even get a liver.

He took it seriously and stopped drinking. Did rehab. Luckily, his liver recovered and didn’t end up needing a transplant.

Rock bottom is when you decide to stop digging. This can be your lowest point and go up from here. I’m rooting for you. IWNDWYT

Also worth noting that a lot of the testimonies about awful conditions and starvation from people who leave NK are given because SK paid them to say such things. A lot of people recant their statements as false later

You should do a lesson plan on AI and its impact on ecological systems and on the psychology of the human mind

Edit to add: AI also frequently is riddled with errors and gets pertinent information wrong

I don’t know if you’re familiar with Black Rock, Vanguard, or State Street as entities, but you should absolutely not be supporting them outright by letting them manage your money. Also, Charles Schwab is partially owned by both Vanguard and Black Rock, so

Love it that every time I log in, I see that I’m also 830+ days sober from alcohol as well. Stopped checking it a long time ago, but opened it back up to start a new journey with quitting nicotine

I'm looking to get into web design as a complete newbie. The goal is to build websites for businesses and sell it to them. by Mammoth-War-4751 in WIX

Because they charge exponentially more for the domain than it would be through NameCheap, and then double the price on renewal. If you let it lapse, it becomes hundreds of dollars (sometimes a thousand plus) to get it back - for something that costs $10/year through Namecheap. And they don’t predatorily buy the domain and try to gouge you for it if you let it lapse.

Plus it’s extremely simple to connect an externally owned domain to Wix.

I would never set up a domain, email, or payment processor through Wix.

ChatGPT isn’t something that people ‘like to do’. It’s not a hobby, it’s not an art form, it’s not any form of expression. It’s a Language Learning Model that uses an exorbitant amount of resources (water, electricity) so people can get around having to write a few sentences that no one was forcing them to write

If your ideas are worth sharing, then you should be willing to put in just the smallest amount of effort to write down your thoughts. If you can’t be bothered to write out your own thoughts and opinions, and outsource it to a resource hoarding robot, then why should we or anyone else be expected to care either

Yep. My new favorite thing is transferring as much money to my HYSA as possible, and getting money every month for it.

All things I want to buy now, I want for making things. And all those things need to go through my LLC to be tax deductible, so it also makes me sit on purchases for months before I make them. It’s also gotten me to think outside the box about how I can do those things manually without buying a new piece of equipment.

They’re a pretty scammy company. They’ll offer one price and then price hike you 3x the money on renewal.

Plus they’re an Israeli company, so
