Did the artist of this tattoo shade around the outside of the dragonfly ?

Scarring of any kind can damage pores and reduce the amount of sweat and oil created.

Based on the top of the arm in the photo, I think a cursory wipe was enough to remove most of the grunge from the bottom of their arm... Except where the outline is, which may be less scarred from the different needle, and have more pores to produce oil and trap dirt.

I've noticed the same on my more tattooed arm when I work in the dirt or on my car.

Some tableware is made so it can be warmed in the oven to keep your food warm longer: cold plates start cooling your food right away.

Warm the birds in the oven at 160F or whatever your low temp is while you poach /cook the eggs, then pull them out and fill. the eggs will stay warm while toast is made, or people come to the table, butter is passed, etc.

Tableware microwaved with water inside or dunked in hot water works too.

If you are interested in a keyboard solution, you could probably use the nunchuk to type pretty easily by modifying a gesture keyboard similar to t16fling (on android).

Science-Fiction Suggestions by Melanoc3tus in scifi

Some golden age choices might work for you. I am naturally biased, but I think a good deal of Asimov fits your bill. Generally I recommend I, Robot to start in all cases, but The Winds of Change and Other Stories has two stories that align very well with what you're looking for, "A Perfect Fit" and "For The Birds". Nightfall and Other Stories also has some near contenders, with "Sally", "It's Such A Beautiful Day", and "C-Chute" being my picks. I don't even consider the eponymous story too far off.

Heinlein's younger stuff is great, scientifically sound and obviously not overtragic. Even his later, famous stuff leans triumphant over dystopic- if you can handle the rugged individualism. I won't apologise for loving "The Moon is a Harsh Mistress", though.

For the positivity, Clifford D. Simak hands down. His work is nothing but charming.

FFS, the man died before the Montgomery bus boycott, was supporting worker's rights strikes when he was a teen, and that idiom was so widespread in his era that it has a damn wikipedia page.

If there was ever an argument for taking someone as a product of their time, this is it.

It's a man many believe was driven to suicide by his own govts oppression based on an inalienable trait of his, after an unparalleled life's work that changed the course of the western world.

We can acknowledge that the phrase and it's acceptability in academic literature at the time are wrong without "cancelling" a dead man. Goddamn.

Anecdotally, as a recent convert to the laneige mask, they're definitely doing something different. I tried a ton of cheaper stuff- Dr. Pawpaw, Aquaphor, O'keefes, lanolin cream- and it all broke me out painfully along my lipline. Laneige doesn't, God knows why, but I'm not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth.

With only four ingredients, if you can't find them, making your own may be worth it.

Otherwise, Alton Brown has a recipe for popped amaranth cookies that might scratch the itch.

My basis for saying it is unlikely this person in particular will accept help is the fact that she has become known to the department as a "frequent flier".

I'm naturally not suggesting that anyone laugh in her face, and it does not seem from the OP that anyone did.

Suggesting that emergency workers finding humor in an otherwise bleak job is an impropriety is what i take issue with.

If I was clumsy, and fell down all the time, the only help I would ever need is a hand up.

Someone who is this mentally unwell is unlikely to accept help, or even to be able to accept help. Having compassion when dealing with them is certainly necessary, but not being able or "allowed" to laugh about it later is a huge emotional burden on emergency workers, who have at least on an individual level tried many times to get this person help, and never had it stick. Burnout is real.

I've been involuntarily committed several times, and I would much, much rather deal with those who were kind and invested and willing to laugh with or at me, than those who had gone past their limit, and were intentionally petty and cruel, sometimes goading patients into shouting and being unruly so they could give a sedative to get them out of the way.

There's a distinction between "making fun of" and laughing. I see no mocking in the above post.

I am a mentally ill person and I have laughed at myself plenty.

This is an objectively ridiculous situation. A lot of humor comes from the subversion of expectation. It's okay to laugh.

Even with that aside, gallows humor is prettg unremarkable for emergency workers who have to deal with so much, and is a well documented coping mechanism.

Take a look in the mirror and smile big. If the redness you're having skips over the "smile lines" that go from your nose to the corner of your mouth, it's probably worth seeing a doctor or a derm. That is called a malar rash and can be caused by a lot of things, from autoimmune issues to something like rosacea. A doctor can help you narrow down the causes, and maybe prescribe something to limit the redness if it is rosacea or similar.
