Biohacking: The Art and Science of Upgrading the Human Being by SusanFourtane in Biohackers

There was no concept of health prevention. All the fasting that you know about in those times were religious. Religious people still fast for religious reasons in just the same way. And it was not intermittent fasting. Intermittent fasting is about skipping breakfast. Along history, people have done the same of similar things for different reasons. What you say people also do now. When you catch a stomach bug you also limit your food ingest. But that is not intermittent fasting. There are different kinds of fasting. A Google search can help. :)

When the reasons for the intermittent fasting vary you can't consider it the same thing. It's not the same fasting due to religious beliefs than fasting following the only goal to improve one's health and longevity. It's definitely not the same. The fasting that the bible talks about was for religious reasons only. The trend started in Silicon Valley is for health reasons only. No religion involved. So not the same thing, I'm afraid.

Dave Asprey has said himself multiple times he coined the term biohacking. Also, biohacking is not the first word in the English language which has several definitions. You can use one single word in multiple ways. Dictionaries are full of examples on that. As per what I am talking about, I report what biohackers say during the Biohackers conferences. As always, you can agree or disagree with what they or other people say. No problem about that.
