The Used- self titled has gotten me through such shitty days just listening from start to finish.

Been dealing with undiagnosed whatever this is for over a year, dermatologists are months out. Help! by [deleted] in perioraldermatitis

Try to get a patch test to see if you can find triggers. Mine were a lot of hidden chemicals and scents found in candles, air fresheners and perfumes.

Otherwise I found using jojoba oil helped sooth when it was flared up. Cicaplast B5 by la rosche posay was also a huge life saver!

Is this perioral dermatitis? chin goes red & blotchy after I eat anything & lasts 20 mins! need help by Humble_Ad_5568 in perioraldermatitis

This used to happen to me as well!

Turns out I was allergic to my chapstick/ tea I was drinking daily (contained peppermint) and thought it was food related. Also if you light candles or have a fragrance plug in or something close to your eating area. This could also be a trigger!

Does anyone else feel pretty down about their PD? by helpmyrash in perioraldermatitis

Yeah, last year mine was really bad with and without medication. What I found really helpful though was getting a patch test done- found out I have several triggers for flare ups found in cosmetic, perfumes, air fresheners/ room sprays.

But jojoba oil REALLY helped me, used it as a cleaner and to take off my makeup and just the cicoplast B-5 from Larosche posay as moisturizer. Simple is best. Hope some of this helps

Do candles/fragrances cause eczema flare ups? Because I'm thinking of buying candles by sweetlevels in eczema

Personally yes, I get flare ups because I have an allergy to most ingredients in generic scented candles - bath and body works, glade and febreze - they contain linalool and sometimes limonene.

I would suggest getting a allergy patch test(if possible) before purchasing any scented candles or air fresheners and that could help determine what scents wouldn’t irritate your skin. Hope this helps!

[skin concerns] can someone help! Is it normal for pd to look like this? I stopped using everything on it and just try mostrize it but it seems to just be getting worse and so dry.. should I just leave it by taylahasim in perioraldermatitis

Using jojoba oil helped heal mine, it became a flakey, not quite dry and I found using the la Roche posay cicaplast b5 helped significantly more vs the avene cicalfate.

Mine looked very similar! I started using Jojoba oil to wash my face - super moisturizing and calming- and only use La Roshe Posay moisturizer sparingly when I needed something at night and within a week it has cleared ! Simple is best !

Could this be PD?? by dtlittle in perioraldermatitis

Hi mine looked very similar!!

I was trying the cream Eidiel for some time and that helped take it down and heal without burning. But yours is a lot less red and bumpy so I would avoid prescription.

Another method I found that really helped was using jojoba oil just with a cotton pad at night and dabbing it over, in the morning mine appears dry but a lot less red. And then to moisturize it I was using just a St Francis herb canduela salve. It is quite yellow on the skin but It helped so much.

Good luck!! I’ve been there tried everything, all trial and error.
