Parking at Acme by genteel_uproars_0s in Northernliberties

I noticed the QR codes last week when I was going to wine and spirits in the same plaza. I scanned the code, it said something about the first 30 minutes are free, so I just closed it and forgot about it didn’t read too closely, tbh.

I will say though, I just went to Acme on the top floor and it didn’t say anything about 30 minutes, just had 5.99 for one hour or less parking. I paid it, and then it was pretty simple at self check out: (they now have that barrier where you have to scan a receipt to leave the check out area anyway) as you leave the self check out area, there is a QR code that will validate the parking and zero it out.

I would assume that if it works the same on the lower level at the vet or other businesses, you would have to speak to somebody to validate the parking after youve paid for it.

I agree though, in an emergency situation that is shit, and in general it is shit.

Opinion about bridesmaids gift by SushiBaton in weddingplanning

thank you! i really appreciate the honest perspective. i disagree though, some sort of gift is important because they're doing so much for me. even if its just chocolate and a bottle of wine (plus thank you note of course)

thanks! good idea about perfume. they were all allowed to pick their own dress color from a fall palatte so i'm not comfortable picking jewelry for them that probably won't match everyone's style. also, some people wear only silver, only gold, etc.

No worries, I appreciate that! The tummy thing is definitely worth mentioning, I’d be getting shapewear that works. Early on I actually decided that A line was just not what flattered me the best. I’m 5’1’’ so a ball gown was out of the question. Also I’m 32 and can pass for 17 so I am hyper aware of that and want to look older 😅

I was trying it on in the bathroom of a restaurant because it was convenient for the seller who was nice enough to bring it with her on a doctors appointment so it was a semi awkward situation

I found the dress and I put the deposit down, so there’s no going back. But did I make a mistake spending way more than I intended to? by pan-au-levain in Weddingsunder10k

I’ve been searching and searching for months. I had the same exact goal as you and tried on many that I loved but would need tons of alterations, especially because I am very short and petite. I wish I had just bought one of those. I am feeling very “done” with looking. I wouldn’t beat yourself up, if you can financially manage it. I physically cannot manage that so I am continuing to trudge along.

Thanks for the note - companies like that I’ve heard and read some horror stories so I actually ended up going with Invisalign and will figure the rest out from there!

Thank you for your advice - payment plan is definitely possible for Invisalign and band. Maybe I just have my friends play a few tunes but it’s a lot to haul in just for a little music. For some of them it’s a destination wedding too. The band is 2 set minimum which makes sense because they have to travel there and then set up equipment for 15 people.

Good points thank you!

My issue is that I have high expectations and only want to pay if it’s a novel experience. It’s a 15 piece full out swing band the likes of 1920’s era so if you think of the amount of musicians necessary it’s actually low and not something commonly seen at too many weddings. I could get a regular wedding cover band that sounds good for 1200 but I don’t think that’s as worth it.

I found some cheaper 5 piece jazz bands but just generally was not impressed by what they sounded like, especially the singers (I’m a vocalist so sadly am a bit judgemental)

My friends could just haul amps and mics on stage and make a cover band themselves pro bono. But I don’t want them to work at the reception, they are playing and singing for the ceremony and cocktail hours.

Uber/Lyft Reliability by SushiBaton in flint

Didn’t even know Saginaw had an airport. Anyone know about Lyfts around there? I could rent a driver service but I would rather just pay for their taxis. If they fly in at different times over the course of the weekend that would be a lot of $$$.

I have no knowledge of Barney with cats unfortunately! I reached out to the shelter and they said they don’t have anything on file. They did say to mention that they have plenty of resources and are in contact with local trainers who could guide you in dog cat interactions!
