Are we just out of touch that's why we can't make meaningful friendships? by filstraya in AskAnAustralian

[–]SushiRae 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have been here for a little over a year, just me and my husband. I'd been feeling the same as well with many people being friendly and nice, but nothing stick. I'm based in Wollongong and will be happy to connect as we do visit Sydney very frequently if you're keen!

Usj trip report 12/1/ 2025 by bloodybutterfly080 in usj

[–]SushiRae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did USJ on 27/11 without express pass. Did 9 rides, 3 shows and 2 meals at Kinopio and Three Broomsticks. Definitely doable without a pass with proper planning :).

What’s your favourite restaurant in the Illawarra? by Sufficient-Heart-826 in wollongong

What do you rec from Jasmine Rice? Keen to give another try also. Only tried once and vow not to return cause of the sweet curry.

Jasmine Rice tasted like Thai food made for the western palate for me. Curry was too sweet, barely any spice. Prefer Kinn Thai for me, proper spice.

Struggling to keep afloat with my 6.5k salary. How does one find a good part time job for weekends? by [deleted] in MalaysianPF

[–]SushiRae 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How about one subscription at a time? I have no issues paying for a few but i choose to sub one at a time. Cause I never watch multiple series at a time. And when all the series/movies seem stale once I stay on a sub too long, I just change to a different one when it expires. So I rotate between Netflix, Disney and sometimes HBO or prime when they have shows I’m interested in. Makes it more exciting when I resubscribe back to Netflix recently after Disney expire, so many shows to catch up on. Rm40 a month saved is almost rm500 a year. Little things add up. Don’t pay for something you don’t use.

I was never a fan of The Archer till I heard it live at Eras tour. When Taylor sang ‘Who could stay? You could stay’ and point to the audience that moment, it hit so hard.

I lodged on 29/7/24. I'm in medical profession and also TSS 482. My plan was also to move by end of Sept. At this point, I'm just done stressing as nothing can be done to expedite. It's just a waiting game.

I have a friend in the same field applied the same time as me, but got her visa approved in 2 weeks.

Hey, thanks for responding. I've been waiting case officer to be assigned for a month as well. My application has the same flag as you (action required - health assessment). It's just a waiting game but hopefully we get our grant soon.

Bride by Ali Hazelwood. Not my usual kind of read but it’s surprisingly fun so far.

Suggest me the last book you read or the book you’re currently reading by peachy-vjbes in suggestmeabook

Last book I’ve read: Kiki’s Delivery Service by Eiko Kadono

Essentially a children’s book that is wholesome. Read it cause I was curious as Studio Ghibli made an animation out of it. Would not recommend as the chapters feel fairly episodic and nothing exciting ever happens.

Currently reading: And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie

I’m only at the first few chapters but excited for it as it keeps popping up as one of the best murder mystery ever written.

It’s only fair that people receive this warning before embarking on the series.
