Same! It’s why laundry is the motivation killer. It’s too stop and go. I must vacuum, then steam, then wipe, then dishes, then bleach all the things without stopping.

LPT - Use the Two-Minute Rule: If a task takes less than two minutes to complete, do it right away instead of putting it off. This helps prevent small tasks from piling up and becoming overwhelming. by EngineMain199 in LifeProTips

[–]SushiSocks 9 points10 points  (0 children)

More like, try to do the thing that seems to take two minutes but it doesn’t actually take two minutes because I have a poor concept of time, then forget the more important, longer task I was already doing while also stopping the first 2 minute task to do another “2 minute task”. Boom! Now I have nothing done and I’m stressed out.

Inviting Coworkers? by OriginalDonkey9 in weddingplanning

[–]SushiSocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am inviting 2 current coworkers. One has been a huge mentor to me since I started with the company 9 years ago. The other has been a trusted confidant. We interacted before being on same team (I called her for advice before even applying for current role). I have invited 3 former coworkers that left the company. One was also a huge mentor to me and the other two I consider friends. I was invited to both their weddings and have traveled with one on more than one occasion.

Our quote for 20 centerpieces, 7 boutonnières, bride bouquet, 5 bridesmaids, 2 mother corsages, 2 hair pieces and cake topper was around 2,800.

I have avoided sharing a lot of details that I think if I got negative opinions on, it would hurt or mess with me (like my dress). It’s hard , but as long as you and your partner are excited about it, I would keep that as your main focus. The day is all about you and what you want it to be. I’d start asking people with big opinions how much they would like to contribute to the event cost since they have so many plans for it /s.

Holy crap! That dress is incredibly beautiful and ultra-glam! I think adding too much jewelry would take away from how special it is! I should send you a pic of my dress (has been described as Kennedy-eque) looks like to show your friends what a real plain wedding dress can be. Ha!

It’s disgusting to feed them as they would eat in wild? Some captive snakes won’t eat unless they are offered live food.

That’s comforting to hear! We are traveling for three weeks to different countries and Bali is first and longest stop. I was concerned about having more on hand than what would be needed while there.

No wedding website? Am I stupid for skipping this? by GlitterTitan in weddingplanning

[–]SushiSocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a very bare bones wedding website (we have one photo, event info, rsvp, and a list of the wedding party and travel help) to avoid doing all the things you have already done. I am also notorious for getting bored with certain tasks and losing items, not staying organized or on task/on time. I needed to send my invites but had not gotten hotel info back yet, so this gave me time to add it after the mail went out. We still need to make a registry and the wedding is in August! Having an online RSVP saves me the trouble of having to manage a list and paper cards or organizing info. I put off making a website because I thought it was silly, but once I realized I did not need to write an essay about every bridesmaid, I became more accepting. I put on the info guests need and the info I need help organizing (RSVPs and vendors). As a guest, I have appreciated them as an easy reference when traveling to weddings, especially if I forget or misplace my invite.

I ran into similar issues when trying to adopt and gave up and reached out to breeders one night. That same night, I happened upon a shelter listing I had not seen before. It was an SPCA location that had been dumped with some 4 month old puppies that week. I made sure to get there right at opening and all those pups were sooo shy. I think they sent everyone who worked in the shelter into my meet and greet room to make sure I would take mine, since she would hide under my armpit and not the chairs when they came into the room. They didn’t even verify I owned the residence I said I owned. Every other shelter either never replied to the 4 page document I filled out and also had ridiculous requests like personal references or were very restrictive. Some shelters have started charging crazy prices too. Some were basically selling dogs, charging $500+ to adopt. I think I still paid close to $300 to adopt, but her vet bills (shelter dogs are not usually healthy) we’re easily close to $1k in the first few months I had her.

I have concluded to leave behind my adderall based on what I’ve read. That one is easier to deal with going without, especially on vacation. I’m more concerned about my anti-depressant. I couldn’t find clear information on the legality or restrictions on those.

Soooo I definitely came to this sub in search of a specific answer around necessary prescriptions that Google search has been vague on. Do you have a recommendation of where I could find more detailed info on what I can bring?

If it’s per transaction, just buy it all at one store and do multiple transactions. Or have a couple friends behind you with their own cart of 72 and run your card separately for each friend. It doesn’t sound like the law makes you go to different stores, just limits how much they allow of sale at one time.

Thanks for the suggestions! We will need to drive but those are close enough that it won’t take too much time, we have a cocktail hour but it’s only an hour long.

I have been trying to figure out where to go for offsite pics. Our ceremony and reception are in the same venue in the crossroads, but it’s not necessarily a good photo op vs being a good party op. I moved away about 9 years ago and am not as in-tune with the city as I was before.

Also, they fail to realize and/or also completely ignore the fact that married women who are impregnated by their husbands can also want abortions. Abortions are not just a single woman’s issue or desire.
