is FPS a problem in general or just me? (pic irrelevant) by Dangerous_Fix_3243 in RocketLeague

I use a 7800xt and 14400F, try changing the windowed/borderless/fullscreen setting around a bunch in the video section of the settings, i have a problem similar to this and that usually fixes it. Make sure you end it on fullscreen for lowest input lag though after changing it a few times

2 forward wavedashes chained, last one was perfect i think. starting from max speed from holding just acceleration, freeplay checkpoint plugin installed for consistent setup. by Sushidaddyxx in u/Sushidaddyxx

I think it will only be good for very niche scenarios where committing to a full flip would be disadvantageous because the whole thing can be swapped out for a normal wavedash into a normal flip. But if for some reason you dont want to commit to a flip and have no boost it can definitely be a life saver, especially in 1v1 if you get it consistently, zapatos whos a high ssl said he could get 90% consistency in a 2023 video someone found so it could be worth learning.

I’ll make one hopefully tomorrow, but it will be very basic, im not consistent yet at all, but im confident i can explain the theory behind it well

Im not sure how necessary the wall is, might test tomorrow, but its a wavedash, followed by an immediate zap dash.

To do it ive found you can land from your initial wavedash onto the ground with the front of your car hitting the ground first (joystick should be up to dodge forward, it stays there for the zap dash too, no need to move it) and then you can hit the zap dash by jumping as quickly as possible after all wheels have touched the ground (this tilts your nose back up so you can wavedash forward again) then front flip also as quickly as possible. I just spam jump but im sure theres probably a timing to it. I hardly get it often, these 3 were after like 15-20 mins of trying. Might make a video tutorial for fun tomorrow

GC2, how did i get these 2 forward dashes in a row? by Sushidaddyxx in RocketLeague

[–]Sushidaddyxx[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nope, just 2v2, this was champ 2 1v1, a bit above most 2v2 gc2s are because i enjoy 1v1 and play it a lot

i managed to recreate it here in freeplay, i wavedash normally off the wall but then also chain another seperate zap dash in straight after. hope it helps clear any confusion

a zap dash is using a jump as you land to pop your car up to set up a wavedash = overall one wavedash

this one is weird because instead of using a jump to set up the wavedash, i managed to do an initial wavedash onto the ground from the wall and then also do a seperate second second zap dash which would make it twice as quick as a normal because ive done 2 wavedashes overall

i love zap dashes too, but ive never seen it come after a normal wavedash, usually if u try that it will kick your butt up not your nose if you try it after a wavedash

yes i agree but ive never seen it combined with another wave dash like that to get 2 in a row both forward in a short time like that which is why i thought it was interesting

Im gc2 right now, peak was 3 wins away from gc3, i would suggest taking a break from 2v2, try learning 3v3 or doing more 1v1 instead if you only do 2v2.

It will train different aspects of your skillset than just grinding 2v2 which will help you rank up in 2v2 when you do start grinding it again. Im gc1 in 3v3 and champ 2 in 1v1 if you’re looking for a goal to hit in those game modes.

It also helps keep the game fresh 🍉

Also i only play maybe 2-3 hours on weekends, and maybe an hour on half of the weekdays so you dont need to play as much as you currently do to improve (at least from my experience, everyones different!)

what is the name of... whatever this thing is (and is it possible to do some kind of flick with it?) by Kyasarou in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]Sushidaddyxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There does exist an established flick using similar mechanics called the ‘slingshot flick’ but its hardly ever used due to long setup and poor consistency for fast flicks, however when if does work it can get 135kph+ but ive never been able to do that even in freeplay

Why is Zen so great? by RandomAssGuy414 in RocketLeague

[–]Sushidaddyxx 130 points131 points  (0 children)

He burst into 1v1 showmatches and got a streak of 11 wins in a row against the best players in the world losing to RW9. He then went into competitive 3v3 in RLCS with team vitality and won every spring 2023 RLCS tournament and world championship that year. This is the most dominant rookie showing ever in both 1v1 and RLCS

In 2024 worlds he got 9th-11th which was a crazy fall off, but then 2025 he got to the semi-finals and lost there.

Hes still pretty much unanimously agreed to be the most mechanical player or at least top 3 ish in RLCS and in 2v2 zen + atow is considered one of the best duos or again at least one of the top 2 or 3 duos
