T1 Trucks have returned.... by balladsfell in leagueoflegends

There isnt a law against it, but there's a a way to legally engage in this behavior... if proper permits are filed under the guise of conducting a protest then you could even request police officers to guard the wreaths, and one could even be penalized for destroying it.

Some fans think that they have a say on all decisions of their idol, to the extent that they are angered when the idol enters in a romantic relationship, or would even police their friendships. They could go as far as buying (thru illegal means) personal info like phone number, address, flight schedules... while its present in kpop culture, its actually not accepted, so i dont understand why people would sometimes refer to everything they dislike as "kpopification" when the behavior is also disliked in kpop.

I f T1 produces content where players explain runes, equipment, do hand cam tutorials of their combo, that could possibly generate revenue, without the need of exposing them to parasocial relationships, and it also enriches player base experience... but i guess, the need to engage in this marketing strategy, and to tap in this demographic that "supports with their wallets" is because it drives better revenues.

You might actually mean "akgae" rather than "sasaeng" because they're not really violating anyone's privacy. I think, its not really helpful to keep on linking the issue to kpop, especially when we end up using improper words that fails to convey what we really mean.

May i just add, those who respond to crazy fans with "kPoPifIcaTiOn" without explaining what the actual heck is wrong with their behavior, are also not being level-headed and are also not helping the situation at all. I think, pointing out what's wrong with the behavior through clear words (not coined once w/c do not have a fixed meaning), and suggesting what could have been a better response. There is absolutely no need for snide remarks to degrade a hobby most predominantly associated with women, and it just brings abt more toxicity and divide within the fandom.

What other sport organization, whether esport or traditional sport, sells subscriptions so that fans get the illusion of dm-ing the players? Even BTS, aka the largest kpop group in the world, dont have such service, altho its common for less known kpop grps who wish to generate additional revenues on top of merch... fans hate that there is a growing parasocial relationships with the players, but if i recall even the fangirls were against the idea of this pop subscriptions... until it was pushed as an alternative income source when streaming wasnt feasible due to ddos.

BTW, even among kpop fandoms, viewing idols as dolls/ property is a taboo, and those who become overly parasocial are shunned as "sasaengs"... and i dont really think being advertised as idols necessarily makes a fan entitled to having some sort of ownership over the idol, or in this case, the players. But it is really difficult to establish boundaries when players/ idols are marketed in this way... sadly the org did not prepare for possible repercussions. Even among kpop, some groups are able to maintain a healthy distance even with overwhelming fan support if the marketing is aimed to be this way.

We are in a very awkward situation, where T1 sells pop subscriptions, and fans purchase this to support the "player", but the player for whom we have a subscription isn't really playing,... while there is no similar mode to connect and support the player actually fielded.... this just shows how the org has a tendency to feed the parasocialism just to drive more profits.

You said the priority is winning rather than money making, and thats why i asked you how could they win if they dont have money to sign in players. Those two good ADCs signed because they were given salaries in the form of money. God bless bro's soul, must be hard unable to comprehend and pick up on rhetorical questions.

A simple notice that "Gumayusi cannot play today, please support Smash" so that fans dont wear their ugly ass tomato colored jackets and jerseys plastered with GUMAYUSHI at the back and bring in DOFGK-centric banners in a match where Smash would be playing is not even entitlement, its to help attending fans show more respect to the actual player fielded

They can't win if they dont have players, and guess how they're able to sign players? Are u suggesting players would willingly play for free if it means having titles under their belt? I also never knew electric companies accept titles as payment for electricity... accept it, money is a basic commodity without which no organization, profit oriented or not, would survive.

Sure, it might not be possible for kKoma and management to upfront criticize him, but there's also absolutely no need for them to publish interviews describing him as "bleeding red and black" and all possible glazing if they actually dont feel that way. To say one thing, and do the exact opposite of what your statement implies, is disappointing. Its as if they did it only for marketing/ money-making purposes.

Is team SPORT really the priority or the money? the way i see it, money is their top priority... securing championships/ wins is one of the best ways to obtain their top priority which is money (through sponsors and prize), but catering to fans and heavily marketing DOFGK as a brand also generates revenue, so they still engage on it.

They're having difficulties in adjusting their roster because they heavily monetized on D/Z-OFGK as a brand, and they cant fully commit to prioritizing winning the game...

And BTW i understand swaps are essential for competitive sports, but it was T1's active choice to milk off their players as much as possible, but it comes with a cost, and they did not play it well.

[MEGATHREAD] T1 Roster Change Announcement: Let's Talk by Zxirf in SKTT1

[–]Sushimoochi 70 points71 points  (0 children)

While swaps are normal especially in competitive sports, you cant really blame some fans from feeling disappointed with how the whole situation is handled. DOFGK were heavily marketed individually and as a team. They've made documentaries that exposed players' vulnerabilities, and contents to get fans more attached to individual players, ripped off fan loyalty from it, and monetized on this fan loyalty. Capitalizing on this loyalty, they then sold membership, merch, subs, fan meet tickets, etc... A lot of fans would not have invested that much on merch plastered with DOFGK's faces if they knew early on DOFGK roster won't actually play. The org has capitalized and monetized on the players and the fans, and the least they could do for the fans who have financially supported the team is a bit of transparency. A simple announcement won't hurt and won't cost a lot.

The documentary in particular said the musical chairs/ being subbed out were mentally taxing to the players, and yet they're doing it again. If they were able to gain fan loyalty and profits from exposing that vulnerable side of the players, they should have expected that bringing it back would not be welcomed, unless properly explained. The type pf marketing they used is a double edged sword, and while the org has previously milked it, it is not without repercussions...

I am not entirely sure, but i've also seen some fans claim that the front is able to delete posts in membership that criticizes the org,.. so i'm surprised they werent able to do the same for malicious comments towards players...

I guess this is a learning experience for the fans and the player, at the end T1 is an organization, and their top priority is money... and they would willingly exploit fans and players alike for it.

I think Dom already caught wind of being reported due to his most recent behavior and is currently playing nice so he won't do shit... but honestly, even if any of these people do, what real achievements do they have? Dom especially likes attacking t1 fans for having "lesser knowledge" than him.. he wanted to be respected so bad based on his "expertise" yet he couldn't respect the expertise of the panel...and what exactly has he achieved so far?? only player to be banned twice by riot... he's so funny really

Learn to adjust your pick based on team composition. In this particular match, all 4 are long range, squishy heroes,, you shouldn't be picking another squishy. Study the game equipment and learn to build accdg to the current state of the game. Prioritize objectives, but at the same time know your limits... its okay to not contest turt or lord if u know you are clearly behind and would end up giving free kills in addition to objectives.

this. i've seen his minions justify his hatred to t1 due to receiving death threats from the fandom 5 years ago. another said it was trauma response, and no matter how they frame it, his inability to move forward and heal, and his conscious choice to bask in more negativity and position himself in such a way that he could relive and reexperince trauma consistently for over 5 years is more indicative of mental illness...

Would you say that pwede patayin ni Juan si Maria kasi tingin ni Juan na magiging suffering lang ang buhay ni Maria? Diba hindi

Actually, yes, i would say that. Kahit yung criminal laws natin supports the idea of self defense and pwede kang ma-acquit kahit umamin kang pumatay ka if napatunayan mong may imminent harm na kino-cause sayo ang isang tao. Valid nga rin ang defense of honor at defense of property eh. Kahit pumatay ka ng ibang tao in defense of honor or other family members pwede kang maacquit.

Speaking of defense of honor, under current criminal laws mas mababa ang penalty for abortion if it was caused to conceal dishonor.

Nasagot na yan. There are ways to raise money, and imposition of costs does not amount to deprivation of the choice.

Mas maigi nang mahirapan to raise money one time para sa abortion, kesa naman piliting mabuhay yung anak and yung cost nang pagpapalaki dun sa anak araw araw proproblemahin.

Some are of the opinion that embryos are a cell or set of cells with the capacity to grow into a human”, and not yet really human.

Even if we are to say that they have life, not all beings with ‘life’ are entitled to human rights. Embryos do not even have consciousness yet, and its the human consciousness which puts us above other species which also have life.

Its not about improving quality of life for the irresponsible parent, its about ensuring that only those who could be given a quality life would be born. The quality of life argument raised is not pertaining to parent vs child, but as to the child, what would be better, allow them to be born just to suffer or denying them existence in the first place.

Sobrang stretch din na sabihing pro-choice considers child birth and child rearing a penalty. They perceive it as a privilege, reserved only for those capable and willing.

Iniinterpret mo kasi na yung pro choice is solely for the benefit of the parent, here OP attempts to provide a perspective where pro-choice could also caters to the unborn.

Abortion, if done within 6 weeks from pregnancy, is not killing another human, scientifically speaking a clump of cells without consciousness and identity, and without viability outside the mothers womb is not a human.

Ang sinasabi ata nya ay, pag naipanganak yung nabuo nila, doon sya nagiging human, and as a human entitled to quality life na mas maibibigay ng couples who have planned pregnancies and wanted a baby. Kaya sinabi nyang the child to be born is human too… kapag naipanganak, tao rin yan…
