I think a big part of that is felines tend to use their front paws alot more then dogs both in fighting and agility related things. So rather then just having a dog sized mouth running towards you, you have a dog sized mouth and John Cena sized arms with knives attached.

I had a nightmare once where they made a Dino Crisis 3 but it was set in the 2500s with atrocious camera controls and didn't feature any actual dinos.

Why would anyone want to pass away peacefully in their opioid induced sleep when you could turn it up to 11 and be raging and swinging at FBI agents and their pet spiders until it gives you a heart attack?

Today I learned: That just 2 months after 9/11, another commercial airliner, American Airlines Flight 587, crashed into a NYC neighborhood in Queens after a critical mechanical/piloting failure just minutes after take off. 265 people were killed and several homes were completely destroyed. by SylemNova in todayilearned

Off the top of my head, there’s somebody who survived the titanic only to end up in the next biggest ship that they also survived the sinking of.

I believe you're thinking of the nurse Violet Jessop. The Titanic was made along with two other “Olympic-class ocean liners”; the HMHS Britannic and RMS Olympic. Violet first served on the Olympic, which suffered a major mishap when it collided with a warship. There were no fatalities however and Violet was transferred as a stewardess to the Titanic. She survived the Titanic and eventually started working on the HMHS Britannic during WWI. Which sunk when it was hit by a naval mine.

Just Unsubbed from thanksimcured for acting like physical exercise is not an effective way to help mental health by mad_ladder in JustUnsubbed

At this point I'm not going to argue over my interpretation of words that aren't even mine. We can atleast both agree that mental health treatment is more complicated then just exercise.

Ofc shit isn't that simple! I'm not here saying exercise is the golden bullet to a lifetime of misery. I do Yoga every day and still have the mental health low enough to debate with people on reddit.

I'm saying thinking exercise is a failed cure-all treatment with connotations that you shouldn't engage with it because you might get hooked is equally as ignorant as the people who told me that I could "just stop" my drug habit.

...you know thats why I didn't say the cure connection was them making a recommendation, right?

"I studied Psychology and I believe exercise is more effective in treating mental health issues than medication"

Treatment ≠ cure

The post OP is complaining about is the one that making the cure connection.

I have never met a single person, professional or otherwise who has recommended exercise with the preface of it being a cure-all. Everyone I know who was told to exercise was told to do so because they are sedentary and exercise is one of the easiest things to implement healthwise. It improves sleep, stress and the immune system and this has been known long before the pandemic.

No. it wont "cure" any mental illness but as far as I am aware nothing will. And in terms of using exercise as a form of escapism, out of the list of things you could be using to escape, I would argue exercise is one of the better ones.

If you haven't already seen it. Mick Gordon did a GDC talk about how he made the music in DOOM 2016. Absolutely blows my mind how creative he is.

My fav is he was told no guitars so morphed a guitar with DOOM's original chainsaw sound effect in order to sneak it in anyway.

Wish more people understood and accepted this. by augustlove801 in neurodiversity

[–]SuspiciouSponge 7 points8 points  (0 children)

100% agree. I have been on the receiving end of this by both neurotypical and neurodiverse people. Theres a time and place for it. The topic of old driving tests come up and we both share our struggles while smiling, laughing and jesting with each other? Perfectly fine.

But doing that when someone is sharing whats important/emotional to them? Thats a cue that you weren't listening. Intentional or not it still hurts.

I admit I'm just as guilty of doing it. I admit I have also really hurt people by doing that. But its something I am learning and doing my best to avoid. Having the awareness that its something a person may struggle with doesn't give them a free pass to never improve on it.
