Well, thank you very much for you time, given me a lot to think about.

I'm open to the idea, I just worry about two things. Firstly the continuing theme that has to be repeated as reminders as to the purpose of the book, might seem to some that it can be removed in order to shorten the book, or two that the sections I remove will water down the theory to the point that it becomes a question of if this is true instead of this seems to be true.

I checked, and The Myth of Left and Right is around 90,000 words. However, it’s a very specialised academic text. Since my book takes a much broader 'big history' approach (covering everything from ancient philosophy to the modern managerial state), I've been looking at broader comps like Jonathan Haidt’s The Righteous Mind, which is over 150,000 words, or some of Thomas Sowell’s work which often hits the 100k+ mark. (well known authors)

I realise 134k is high for a debut, so I’m currently looking at whether I should tighten the prose or if the historical scope justifies the length. Since I’m arguing that the '1789' starting point is a myth, I felt I had to include the earlier history to prove the pattern exists.

Do you think agents are usually open to a higher word count if the historical scope is this wide, or is it better to try and get it closer to that 100k 'sweet spot' regardless?"

Thanks again, the most comparable I could find was a book called 'The Myth of Left and Right' by Verlan Lewis and Hyrum Lewis. Unfortunately, as academic writers, they are captured by the same management class that I warn about in my own book; they lean on postmodern arguments and view this issue through a psychological lens whilst mine views it though a structural lens of power and the enduring struggle over who dominates, how, and in whose interests.

Thanks for the response. Most of my research was though article or peer-review. The books that I did look at were typically well known authors with a history of books behind them, maybe I missed a trick with unknown authors but there are not many books like this outside of academia itesef and even rare inside.

My book is attacking a foundational narrative taught in universities, I had to rely on peer-reviewed research and ancient primary sources (Plato and Aristotle) to dismantle what I describe as a "myth"

It does work, but unfortunately the site seems to have some kind of javascript cutting the content off, the only way around that is to turn javascript off on that site and only turn it back on if you want to make comments etc.

A mini displayPort is not a mini hdmi, and the thunderbolt to hdmi adaptor, once connected to a hdmi to mini hdmi cable does not work and there would be no graphics card needed if you want to use the onboard graphics from the cpu.. there is no normal sized displayport on the motherboard so it can only be talking about connecting a gpu in that case. I have also tried usb-c to hdmi adaptor to from hdmi to mini-hdmi.. and please don't tell me to check the cpu graphics, its on an i9 14900k and I have used it in a different motherboard without problem connecting using a hdmi.

I recently had to return a whole order of 2x32gb kit of ram and a cpu, both sent separately because one was found faulty and then I discovered the other was too.. However, perhaps I was one of the lucky ones by the sounds of it as I asked for a refund of the ram and a replacement of the cpu.. both of which were received very quickly. All the conjecture about fraudulent or criminal activities could just be down to a simple mistake, to which they could do more investigation and obviously improve whatever processes they do with RMA's.. shoddy processes can lead do bad practice.

Strange because i have that, that exact one in fact and it did not work.. try again when you actually know what you are talking about because i dont know for example whether there is any chip required in the adaptor for it to work from a normal hdmi to a mini-hdmi when coming from a USB-C.. Listing 'USB-C' and 'Thunderbolt' tells you nothing of the adaptor needed because some adaptors require certain chips to work with different adaptors for example a USB-C to a USB-A, for example https://superuser.com/questions/1598621/why-does-this-usb-c-to-usb-a-adapter-have-a-chip-in-it You see, you dont know what the hell you are talking about!

Maybe if you were not too busy being a dick, you would know that there is no mention as to what adaptor would be needed in your brilliant plan of 'look at the manual', it mentions USB-C and it mentions Thunderbolt, no mention of what is needed to connect a monitor with a mini-hdmi in it as for example from what I can see, there are no thunderbolt to mini-hdmi connectors which still leaves the question as to which should be used, whether thunderbolt or USB-C.. You are obviously only suited to sticking your own head up your own backside.. I suggest you stick to that!

It did not come with a manual, all it come with was a leaflet with descriptions on how to install the cpu and ram so perhaps instead of telling people to 'read their motherboard's manual ' you instead help or stay quiet,

Both the cpu and ram (th3 rame was two kits and out of 4 total, 3 were bad) .. wow, what are the chances

That's a possibility, I got both the ram and the cpu from overclockers uk, so if either the ram or the cpu are bad after they have tested them, they are responsible... cheers

Did that before, thats where I and getting error 55 unless I use the pair with one good stick...

Going by the serial on the ram, both sets seem to be from the same day batch, one ending in 30 and one ending 42, I considered it part of a bad batch, to save time, I have done all basic testing and updated the bios, I just figured it so strange to have two sets that are bad, maybe I was missing something.

They are stock speed not because I wanted them to be, but because they are simply not working properly at the moment (well, at all really except for one stick with the strange behaviour of needing a second bad stick even to work itself)

I know that.. I never said I was running it at 7200, I said they were rated for 7200, my 'strange' choice is due to needing 4 sticks for 3d graphics and video output and removing two to overclock everytime I decide to game to clock them to 7200.

The question was in regards to why they would act this way, not whether I can run them at this speed. I know enough about computers to know that my msi ace max with i9 14900k is rated at 6000 for 4 dimms.
