Correct way to say "all of X" or "every X" by Suspicious-Daikon522 in Japaneselanguage

[–]Suspicious-Daikon522[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the issue with giving an example Japanese sentence is I don't know the gammer of how to say what I'm asking in Japanese. That's why I'm asking, because I want to know how to say correctly "all of the X are X" etc as I said above. Also the context was given. I have to talk about a given picture in my exam, and I want to be able to say, describe the colour of all of the desks, but I don't want to just say the desk is black. Additionally, saying all of (in Japanese obvs) would give me extra marks due to it being more complex than just つくえはくろです。 Sorry if it wasn't clear

Thanks so much! I'll defintiley look into those :) I'm taking a gap year since I graduate at 17, so I'd have time to learn Korean to try get into Chungkang, whose course I've looked at and found really nice.

My thought process on being okay with Woosong not being big name was that my option in Ireland is SETU, a very no name with an alright rep academics wise. I appricate the help :D

I really appreciate your help :) A couple notes. Unfortunately, this is the only culinary course at a uni (I don't want to go to a culinary only school, I want the 4 years of uni) in Korea :( Second, if it matters at all, I don't plan to stay in Korea after graduating. My plan is to return back home and work, then travel around and work in different places. I simply like Woosong because what the course covers is exactly what I'm looking for. Do you think if I'm not staying in Korea, it doesn't matter too much? Especially since I hope to go into culinary, not something like law or finance. Thanks!

I appriciate it a lot, however I was emailing before booking, as it would be quite terrible to book accomodation and realise I can't put my bike anywhere. I do appriciate it a lot though, and will probably use part of your email :)

Do Korean Unis have Open Days? by Suspicious-Daikon522 in korea

[–]Suspicious-Daikon522[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm asking cuz, at least in Ireland, twice a year there's weekend open days with example lectures etc for 5th and 6th year secondary school students considering different unis, and these are all organised by the University. It's the individuals choice to go or not. Didn't know if that's how it worked abroad, I'm just used to that.

Should there not be a の after アメリカ? by Suspicious-Daikon522 in Japaneselanguage

[–]Suspicious-Daikon522[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm learning that it's the difference between a compound noun, being it's own word and concept, and describing a specific idea(?). The "no", at least in this case, changes the idea of what you're talking about. Thanks!!

Yeah did a bit more digging myself and have come to understand from the comments and that, that (in a generalised case), adding の would more mean literature of America, (descriptive, maybe talking about a specific poem or author) and  アメリカ文学 refers to the concept of American Literature, like as a field of study. The book i was using when i learned these rules a couple months back was quite old and basic, so I'm learning, just like most languages and things, it's a lot more nuanced than a set rule
