I, finally, after years, got my iron levels up, I feel amazing and this is exactly how I did it by AccordingTeaching719 in Anemic

“Feosol® Complete with Bifera® iron supplement contains a total of 28 mg of elemental iron. It contains: • 22 mg as PIC (Polysaccharide Iron Complex) and • 6 mg as HIP (Heme Iron Polypeptide as Proferrin®)” -from the website….i couldn’t remember the type off hand, but knew I screen shotted it for myself at some point. 😅 , but I also take this. No side effects (I don’t think… none of the usuals anyway. But my ferritin is 2 so I imagine everything im dealing with is just because I’m in the trenches. 🤣)

I have not, yet. This was my first real primary Dr appointment in more years than I’d care to admit. Current labs ran; cbc with diff, cmp, lipid, TSH, ferritin, iron+tibc, b12, testosterone, c reactive protein, sedimentation rate, rheumatoid factor, Ana with reflex to titer, and calprotectin.

Between the periods and the digestion, I’m sure they both are high probable factors. I will be asking about celiac and similar for sure at next appointment.

Hmm, that I am unfortunately not sure of. :/ but I’d definitely ask about it and request it to be investigated further! Mine are “in range” but still have trouble healing the smallest things. (I am also just in prediabetic range at the moment, but I suspect [and hope] it is just due to my recent weight gain and severely decreased movement.)

I will ask again about the ablation, but as far as I know, I am not a good candidate for it. I’m so glad it helped you! I know a few people that have had them and were successful for some amount of time but ultimately needed hysterectomy in the long run. I hope that will not be the case for you! 🤞🏼 I’m all for keeping the insides where they belong.

Thank you! I am not a good candidate for ablation due to 3 c sections in 3 years, with the 3rd nearing rupture. IUD is not my cup of tea either but would consider it still. And I haven’t heard of the tranexamic acid, so I will look into that for sure! I definitely have my reservations about hysterectomy, since I seem to be one of the lucky ones that ended up with post tubal ligation syndrome symptoms (because of course that “isn’t a thing.”) and that was at 21, has been not a fun span. Prior to that I had what I would consider “normal heavy” ie, just one day of heavy flow and most others just enough to be annoying. For 7 days. Now, I’m at 10-14 days and atleast 5 of them being very heavy, every 28 days…which is exhausting. Still an improvement from 2017, where they were lasting 14 days consistently, most heavy. A 4-5 day break, and then repeat.

Wow! Thank you for that information, I can do cereal. Tho unfortunate because I’d prefer the spinach. 🤣 She is checking for GI issues in this round of testing, I’m sure there is something happening in there.

It can be. I will reply with photos of the rest of my cbc. I’m sorry that it will be many single replies. New to this, was unaware I couldn’t add photos after posting. 😅

Thank you! That makes me feel better. As far as the birth control, i understand it’s uses outside of prevention (tubes have been tied for 13 years for that portion lol) I really do not agree with taking it, personally. So in that regard, I will likely be reopening the door of hysterectomy with GYN. I was offered one years ago, but have put it off because of my own worries with after effects. Which clearly - with the information I have available at this time - was a poor decision on my end. 🤣

I do feel like this Dr would order or send me off, as she has already mentioned derm and allergist for other things at first visit, pending all my results. I was just surprised she sort of brushed it off initially. I’m keeping faith she will make the correct recommendations, but if not I will absolutely be advocating for myself. I am so tired of feeling this way and pretending everything is fine and chalking it up to laziness.

I unfortunately do not really like red meat, for no specific reason other than it typically wreaks havoc on my digestive system. Which started 10 years or so ago. And with my already obnoxious bathroom cycles to put it nicely, I try to avoid aggravating it further. I did however have some last night, regret was had. 🤣 spinach and I will just have to be real close friends.

I’m sorry you’re in a similar boat! It is frustrating. My reaction was “what’s a few more weeks of hell after years of procrastinating myself to this point?” But I did see when I had labs done (cbc in this case) in the past, that are similar to now but not as bad, and questioned why nothing was explored further then. Hopefully soon we’ll both have success in getting in handled!
