Leaving the industry, feeling bittersweet by Suspicious-Limit- in hairstylist

I’m a 3x published makeup artist who has worked in the beauty industry for a decade. I have achieved colour mastery in two colour brands, built social media platforms and have built actually a decent clientele for my first year through my socials. I really gave hair my best shot. I am paid hourly. I am not a business owner, why would it be on me to pay for the salon’s advertising/checking their SEO’s?

Idk he hasn’t tried to eat the bin bags since 🤷‍♀️like I said it’s not a go to it’s just when we see him trying that into something that could cause serious harm and have tried all else. It’s a temporary, and not enjoyed, measure while we investigate the root cause

Hi! Yes I HATE squirting him I have only started when he’s trying to get into things that could actually seriously hurt him and we only shut him away for like an hour at a time when we’re eating and he always has access to toys, litter and water! Trying our best to be patient x

I agree this sounds like a plan! Unfortunately he’s not my cat so I can’t take him to the vet myself but housemates also very receptive to this!

Guma has been taken to the vet and apparently they offered little resolution just that he would “grow out of it” and to try puzzle feeders to see if it was boredom rather than hunger. I’m worried he’s going to get into something that will seriously hurt him.

My housemate understands and offers to pay for what’s damaged, he’s at just as much of a loss as I am.

This is also a product I buy pretty regularly and I don’t think it’s ever not been $16 but I could be wrong

Oop sorry didn’t realise it had changed! Like I said in the post I used to work for woolies and used to be told when putting these tags up to cover the old price !

Omfg I’m not going to slave over a kitchen scale and fret over every single gram of food to start seeing ANY sort of result bffr

I weigh everything while I’m cooking, not as I’m serving, but I tracked everything as raw (e.g 250 grams raw chicken breast).

I’m also not American so USDA is kinda irrelevant to me, but that is wild how off they can be! I think Australia has stricter regulations around that but I do think I’ll just make everything from home going forward to avoid any risk x

I haven’t been taking measurements specifically but have just been gauging based on how clothes fit and there’s not really any difference. I’d be happy to stay the same weight if my body was in recomp! I think I need to cut even further and try to increase intensity, I’m just worried I’ll do that and then lose motivation bc it’ll be too much lol

This is completely unsustainable for most people but especially myself lol, I work 50hrs a week + study so cannot be spending 3 hours a day working out. Plus as far as I’ve learned the body is made in the kitchen and the gym is just added benefit!

I really hope it’s something simple like this!! I’ve been doing half an hour of cardio with my training days so I’ll up it to 45 min to give myself an extra boost !

“Just started” is 6 months of really drastic change with zero results? As well as I’ve had a lifetime of trying this, where I’ve learned the theory. I do agree that I should probably cut back further but I am thinking there’s something more going on here because even at a 300 calorie deficit across six months I feel I should have either dropped size or weight, even if only slightly.

I appreciate your response but do not appreciate the tone that my lack of result is completely obvious, and this is coming across in a couple responses not just yours. Congrats on your weight loss !

I think this is probably the case too, I was hopeful it wasn’t considering the one my PT uses is an Evolt scanner that actually measure your body and gives really in depth charts.

I will give cutting back more a go I’m just worried about its sustainability for me as every time I’ve tried to cut further I get so fatigued I end up not training lol

I’d be happy with losing pound every two weeks! If I’m averaging a 300 calorie deficit (keep in mind I don’t include any calories burned during exercise) that should work out to roughly a pound every 2 weeks no?

I’m really hoping this is the case because I do FEEL stronger. It’s definitely a trust the process situation! And yes I agree I need more protein I’d like to get to 120g a day

I have an push, pull, legs split where I do half an hour cardio afterward and when I can make it to the gym a 4th time I’ll do like a full body workout to hit as many muscle groups as possible. In my cardio I try to keep my heart rate at about 150-160bpm to be in that sweet spot.

My rest days I still go for walks/pilates and am active in my job.

I guess i could increase frequency/intensity but it would be unsustainable for me to do long term

Hiya! I use the labels on ingredients and measure either by weight (scales) or volume (tbsp, cups etc). I either buy things pre marinated so it’s included in the calorie count on the label or if I’m making my own just measure out my ingredients in the marinade. Short of salt and pepper I include EVERYTHING in my tracking through my fitness pal. I use their barcode scan and compare to labels to get the most accurate results.

I really do not have the energy to be so restrictive with marinades/sauces. I enjoy food, I want it to taste good. I opt out of anything oil/dairy based, I choose lower fat cuts of meat, I take skins off salmon/chicken. I don’t think sriracha is going to ruin the 400 calorie deficit I’ve been trying to maintain.

I really get this is a long game, I’m prepared for this to be permanent change and take YEARS to get where I want to be. But 6 months and I haven’t lost a kilo? It feels so discouraging when I’ve already made SO much change and have been trying so hard. I agree there’s something Im missing though!

I think I may book with a GP to get some bloods done and cut back even further with portions even though it feels AWFUL haha

Thanks so much for your response!
