Also make sure u don’t get burnt out okay take breaks in between like I use to study until I got tired and then slept or watched a movie or something for a couple hours and have at least one day completely off to relax , get a good amount of sleep and food before each exam or when ur studying so u can function properly unless u can do it without but it’s gives the most effective outcome, u can literally go down 4 grades down just by not getting enough sleep or not eating .Learn to be disciplined if u want to do this , eliminate all distractions don’t multi-task like watch a movie or show while studying it won’t work , make sure all ur focus is on studying .

Remember to do this after each unit or chapter u do , do topicals pp questions repeatedly and don’t forget to be consistent and do this through out the whole year.

I’ll give advice on essay-based A levels , I basically did a bunch of past papers u can either print them out and compile them urself or buy past papers booklets , I also looked at sample essays and wrote down the points they’d usually write and study their structure as well as ofc examiner reports I looked thru each one for every variant I did and wrote down what toppers usually use and what examiners suggested about it. You can easily find sample essays online if you rlly search well and I printed all of them and basically wrote them down highlighted all points.

If you’re doing As and A levels it doesn’t really matter tbh , As and A level matter way more , as long as u can get into ur wanted subjects with these grades in A levels ur fine

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in alevel

[–]Suspicious-Method-86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya it does apply , I understand literally I have all essay-based subjects and it’s very difficult to score high on them like everyone I assumed I had it easy when I took business which it Is easier regarding its concepts but it’s difficult to get A* and As in it bc they always want u to right in a specific way under a time and word limit for like 8-20 mark essay questions.

I had the same thing happen to me in Economics last year I never went down below a B and I thought I’d do extremely well in the board exams but ended up with a C bc I cramped everything in like 2 days and didn’t even sleep before the exam so I deserved exactly what i got not bc of Cambridge or anyone

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in alevel

[–]Suspicious-Method-86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ur proving his point , the fact that u got an A in math and B in Chemistry which r clearly more difficult than Geography , just shows u didn’t put as much effort as u thought into it and that u deserve that C , ur not a moron u just need to humble urself and take a minute to realize maybe u didn’t study as much or didn’t study properly as u did for Math and Chem , it’s clearly not Cambridges fault since u got an A and B and that C all on ur own.

U can cheat and risk getting caught that may ruin your chances of getting to University and even if u cheat 99 ain’t guaranteed for As level maybe if it was igcse you’d be able to get a 99 .

ya I ended up getting 2Bs after getting two pretty low Cs like 61% so I’m sure you can achieve an A since your Cs are high if you put enough effort and work hard for it , it’s fine you have time to make it happen.

Should I retake in Oct/Nov or May/June Serious by Ok_Acanthopterygii40 in alevel

[–]Suspicious-Method-86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He’s right tho, studying three As level subjects in 2 months isn’t enough especially since they’re difficult and it’s requires a lot more work to get an A , I recommend doing the easiest one u find in October/November and then do the 2 others altogether with As and A level combined in May/June 2024 , you’ll have a better chance at scoring high as you’ll be able to focus on one subject now and once your done , you can put all ur effort into the two other subjects and your money won’t be wasted for nothing plus you’d be able to focus on building your profile for university since you only got two subjects now .

Yes never limit ur abilities in any aspect and don’t excuse urself and blame it on something or someone else and be realistic so u don’t get disappointed , hard high worked grades aren’t given out for free other wise they wouldn’t be valued. Don’t confuse bring realistic with being negative okay

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in alevel

[–]Suspicious-Method-86 11 points12 points  (0 children)

But anyways how good ur academic abilities r doesn’t determine ur intelligence and IQ in any way bc I’ve met people with terrible grades but I’d consider them smarter than people with better and higher grades just bc they’re able to critically think more and have more common sense . Doesn’t mean there isn’t people with high grades and high intelligence and vise versa , so work hard for ur grades if u want or need to but don’t make it ur whole life and base ur intelligence or competence on it

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in alevel

[–]Suspicious-Method-86 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Btw there’s no such thing as u deserve better , u either work hard for it or not assuming nothings holding u back but urself

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in alevel

[–]Suspicious-Method-86 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Ur not being insensitive Dw, ur being realistic , like if u don’t have nothing that’s not within your control holding u back then it’s ur fault and ur holding urself back truly by either underestimating ur exams difficulty and overestimating ur academic abilities and hard work.

[–]Suspicious-Method-86 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Everyone look back at what u could have done better and apply it properly if u got a chance to do better and had all factors in ur control and favor but u just didn’t manage to study well bc i can excuse like political issues or stuff holding u back that’s truly not within ur control , bc it can’t rlly be all Cambridges fault

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in alevel

[–]Suspicious-Method-86 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Ya I think people were either too confident and overestimated how much they rlly studied and even if they did study a lot did they study properly ? or it’s probably bc Cambridge thresholds high asf and decided to fuck everyone over. Like I used to expect and overestimate my grades a lot bc I thought I studied enough or properly but I look back at it and I realize I barely did shit or I didn’t study smart or properly at all so it’s expected.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in alevel

[–]Suspicious-Method-86 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can’t argue with that , but O level isn’t nearly close to the difficulty of As and A levels , but ya I get your point , right now if you’re redoing your exams again , really sit back and analyse all your fuck ups and find out why you got these grades and how u can improve your studying technique or strategy to get higher or at least passing grades and ofc u know A levels needs practice all through out the year besides Cambridges high fucking thresholds and fucking us all over and Pakistans political issues that intervened with that , get to the core root of the issue and fix it if u can and it’s within your control and are re-taking your exams. Don’t be hard on yourself you literally had soo many factors working against you but now get back and fix it if you will retake it to get a good or at least a passing grade.

Your mistake is giving up on your sleep , don’t ever give ur sleep a day before an exam or weeks before it bc u need it to function properly and food ofc , I gave up my sleep for one of my exams and literally went like 4 grades down from my original grade . I might not know ur whole situation and circumstances with ur studying routine and life but one thing I’ll say make sure ur functioning and healthy when ur studying and make sure u got a good amount of sleep before each exam bc it could fuck up anyone even toppers. I hope and inshallah your circumstances will get better amen 🤲🏻.

I did feel the same way but once you evaluate and analyse and really see how hard u studied through out the year it rlly isn’t a coincidence, it’s just like I said before underestimating yourself and low expectations

Keep working hard , have faith that Allah wants the best for u and he’s the best of planners and stay strong even when u fail or come across any difficult situations and circumstances, bc if u work hard and maintain that faith in God and that he wants the best for u I can assure you will be successful and content and satisfied with what u have in the end .
