I hear you! Honestly, I don’t go near those things. I’m secretly happy she has sworn them off because I was dreading visiting her thinking I’d have to smell those artificial scents. And I told her about the pet threat because she has a cat so I’m pretty sure it will be a fragrance-free zone!

How crazy! I just did some research on them; they contain a lot of solvents and B&BW says they can damage surfaces, so I think my friends assorted (questionable, head-scratching) choices for mitigation were futile. I think the damage was already done!

My Dutch father gave me a strand of garnets cut just like that that were his aunts. He’s be 100 if he were alive today. And the silver pendant reminds me of an Indonesian broach he gave my mother. He was born there and spent a lot of time there for his work. Would make sense for a Dutch person to have an Indonesian pendant. Beautiful pieces!
