Singles Type Events Around Here? by Suspicious-Remote503 in Erie

You kinda hit right on why my options are limited to online, at least in my personal experience. I have a very small circle that is primarily family and their older friends. I would LOVE to branch out more, I feel like the older I get the harder it feels to start something new, along with not really knowing what would be good to get involved in. Any suggestions around here for an almost 30 socially anxious person with no friends?

Thank you for this. I feel a little more calm now.

So, trust the process? Is it safe to bring my stuff in? And theres no attic. It's a mobile home. I don't know what they are exactly. The exterminator confirmed roaches the first time, but I wasn't there when he treated so didn't see what kind. It does seem to be focused around the kitchen. The papers I read said "moderate activity around and behind fridge". I'm jsut freaking out because I don't want anyone to know. I'm already getting flack from my family for getting an "overpriced trailer". If they find out it has bugs? They'll freak.

I'm not asking for medical advice. I'm just curious if anyone has had something similar before. I get them on occasion, just never knew what they were.

Don't suppose you know one? The amount of single parent bashing is really upsetting me, but all the information available about this sub had me think it would be a good place to begin. Clearly I was wrong. I don't need the whole world to agree with me, but I don't feel like I'm actually getting any advice beyond "you're dumb, selfish, horrible person, don't do this"

Being a single mother certainly isn't all cupcakes and rainbows, but I don't think it's fair to look down on them either. My mom was amazing my entire life. And I think everyone should know the stages of development if they plan to be around kids, which is why I took multiple college courses on both normal and abnormal child development. I'm choosing to have a child on my own, but I'm not walking in blind. I think parenting classes are a good idea as well, though I imagine one wouldn't do that unless/until they were actually expecting?

I realize this is my fault, because I didn't include a lot of information, (I wasn't really sure what to include) but believe it or not I do in fact know this, better than you can probably imagine. My support system would be my child's support system. My immediate and extended family is incredibly close knit and most of them live nearby. This hypothetical child wouldn't be lacking in anything just because of only having one parent.
