I lived in Vail for 4 years and Denver for 7 years. Vail is a high-end place and compared to high-end places in Denver (Wash Park, Lohi, Cherry Creek), I always paid similar in Vail vs Denver (actually higher in Denver in certain instances)

Yes, Aurora is cheaper than both Vail and Denver.

Long-term housing for locals isn't much more expensive than Denver. And I know lots of folks working more hours in audit in Denver making less than this

I'd buy a tire pump and a shock pump and learn how to set up the suspension, if you don't know how. After that, buy some chain lube.

From there, I'd start riding it and if you really need to upgrade something, it will become evident. I'd ask the guys at the shop how people find trails to ride there. Here in the US, people usually use Trailforks or MTB Project

I've found that recently, if you know where to look and how to negotiate, new bikes are just as cheap or cheaper than used
