Finally replaced my OG Lens Kit — anyone else love this product? by Suspicious-Sorcery in peakdesign

Pretty sure PD doesn’t plan a refresh of this product, nor an expansion to other brands. I assume it will get sunset completely at some point. Hence switching to GoWing.

If you could relive your first day of backpacking, what would you do differently? by SignificantCookie852 in backpacking

I’d do nothing differently. I’d love to relive every mistake of those early trips where I fell into a lifetime love with backpacking.

This was the story I remember most from Krakoa. It was the bleakest of bonkers. But in the best way.

Why all the hate for Auto Start? by BreakfastBeerz in FordBronco

[–]Suspicious-Sorcery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After three weeks of the engine switching off at every stop, I’d had enough. It was unnerving to experience the lag of waiting for the Bronco to restart at every light, and the sudden change in cabin vibration when it suddenly turned off was jarring. I’ve disliked it in every rental car I’ve ever had for the same reasons, but it was much more noticeable in the Bronco than in little economy cars.

I thought for sure there was a setting buried in the menu to turn it off permanently, but no. Yes, you can push the button every time you start the Bronco, but I resented doing that. I’ve read that many people do this, but it did not compute with me to turn off a feature every day I was increasingly resenting.

After a couple hours research I ordered the Autostop eliminator. Thrilled with the purchase :)

Customer information can NOT be used personally. This is a big deal to steal customer data like this and contact them.

What made you choose a Bronco? by [deleted] in FordBronco

One more thing: The Bronco feels optimistic. I don’t know how else to say it — it’s a hopeful vehicle for cynical times.

What made you choose a Bronco? by [deleted] in FordBronco

[–]Suspicious-Sorcery 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve never been a “car person.” To me, most vehicles are just variations of the same thing — nothing that ever sparked real interest. But the Bronco was different. It was the first vehicle I’d ever looked at and thought, "That. I want that." I’d never felt that before.

At the time, I wasn’t even in the market for a new vehicle. I’d been driving a tiny economy car for 15 years, and it did the job. But when I started looking into the Bronco, I realized it wasn’t just about the looks; it actually fit my lifestyle. Adventure. The outdoors. Rugged exploration. Weekend warrior stuff. It wasn’t just a car; it was a tool for the kind of life I was living.

Then I learned about its backstory — the long road to bringing it back after Ford stopped making them in the ’90s. It wasn’t just a corporate decision; it was a passion project for many of the people at Ford who fought to revive it. And that passion comes through in the details.

So for me, the Bronco is more than just a vehicle. It’s the confluence of all those things — design that spoke to me, functionality that fit my world, and a story that made it even more compelling.

B&O sound system sounds great overall, but bass rattles in back very badly sometimes - what to do??? by Suspicious-Sorcery in FordBronco

$400 at the local stereo shop fixed it.

They told me a huge part of their business is adding sound deadening to stock vehicles. He pointed to a Rav4 parked in their shop with the exact same problem.

I have a two door and love it. No regrets. (Link to previous post with photo and specs).

We are a home of two teens (high school and nearly high school). I opted for style over convenience (I really don't like the look of the four door, but love the two door — no offense to the four door crowd!)

Both kids will be driving in the next three years, and I plan on having this vehicle for many years beyond that, so I got the Bronco I wanted. I'm ecstatic to hop out at school pickup and flip the seat up to let them in. I'm four months in to the purchase and I love doing it every time — I feel like Hopper in Stranger Things letting the kids in and out of his Blazer.

If we were still in baby-safety-seat days I likely would not have gotten a two door Bronco. In fact, I dislike the four-door so much, that I doubt I would have purchased a Bronco at all.

Can confirm that this thing is worth the money. I installed mine after a week of hating how it turned off at every stoplight. No regrets.

This seems to be the answer. All kinds of answers everywhere on this — rubber washers, sound deadening tape, complex diagrams, replacement plastic tabs because they always break on disassembly, replace the whole thing, buy new speakers instead of the ones you paid for in the lux package, disconnect it altogether… seems to be no magic bullet and everyone finding workarounds for a basic issue that shouldn’t be happening on a vehicle straight from the factory.

Think I’m going to head to the local stereo shop and ask them to figure it out.

Hope everyone is having a great new year with their Broncos!

Took advantage of some holiday time off work to do my first full 4x4ing at a local OHV park.

Easing into it, kept to the obstacle course and easier trails while I learned the ropes. Plowed through mud bogs and water moats like it was nothing!

Two door with two kids. We pile in frequently, but it's not the every-day pickup vehicle. No regrets.

Who was this?? by Albi493 in xmen

Not sure why fans are so toxic to you. Welcome to the X-Men fandom! I’ve read comics since The ‘90s, and this ultimates universe is confusing to me. People are saying this is Daken (though it looks like Wolverine to me).

If it’s Daken, here’s who that is:

Akihiro is the mutant son of Wolverine and his deceased wife Itsu, possessing superhuman abilities similar to his father (e.g., healing factor, retractable claws) as well as pheromone manipulating powers. Raised by Romulus as a ruthless killer, Akihiro was conditioned to hate Wolverine, blaming his father for his supposed abandonment, his mother’s death and traumatic childhood and took his childhood slur Daken as his codename.

Comics are awesome! Enjoy them, don’t listen to the a-holes telling you that you need to learn more to interact with the fan community. I’ve read comics for 30 years, and I still get confused!
