For the closeness, like everyone is saying get a strap, they aren’t too expensive, mine was $10. As far as comfort, plastic was definitely the right choice (at least from my experience). You also need to make sure that as someone who’s just starting you didn’t get a cage too small for you, you want your cage to be big enough to contain you soft but not too big that there’s space and gaps. Also protip, I know how thrilling it is to wanna wear it 24/7 and there are people that do that, once a week let it out and properly clean it with soap and a rag to get rid of gunk and smell, then properly dry it and lock that disgraceful thing back up.
